Hello world! Welcome back to another blog. This week saw me making my favourite meal for the cold weather, a new goal to reach before I turn 30, and decisions on which monologue to perform for the open house event at Christmas. So without further ado, here is what I got up to on the week commencing 13th October 2025:

Professional:

Acting Class:

This week in my class we continued to develop work in preparation for our event on 20th December. These included some wake up games involving animals noises and who is our shield and who is our bomb, a dinner party exercise, and a game where I was a puppet and it made me laugh my head off. We also did a long form improvisation using the interview initiation used by the main actors in the show Middleditch and Schwartz, where they interview an audience to generate ideas from their chat. This was interesting, and some interesting scenes came from it as well. And finally we briefly looked at monologues to use on the night and also film to post on our socials or on our spotlight pages. And for those who can’t make it or need to leave at a certain time (like myself), it’s a good way to get work out there to show people. Now even though I’ve got one already and one I’m in the process of writing, there are some decent pieces that really got me hooked. So as I’m posting this, I’ve had until Friday to make my final decision, and I’ll let you all know next week which one I’ve chosen.

Acting Jobs:

This week I applied for more acting jobs as always. One of them was to register to be part of an entertainment team of a well known holiday brand. As I’m posting this, I’m unsure if I’ll be able to make the audition due to outside reasons, but even if I don’t, this will definitely be my new goal to reach before I’m 30 (which I know seems like ages away but I know it’ll fly by). Either way, whether I’m auditioning this year or waiting until the spring, reaching this goal will be amazing, potentially opening some new doors for me.

Draft Emails to Creatives:

This week I started to draft some emails to send to casting directors and creatives. This’ll most likely be my final list of emails before the end of the year, so I needed to make sure they are suited and tailored to each person. What I’ve done though is made a general draft for the ones who cast different genres, and then made some tweaks in the process (so state to some how I like the show they’ve casted, or mention how on a podcast I’ve found their information useful). But one thing I will definitely mention to them all is my show on 20th December, so with a quick check from the act on this community, I’ll hopefully get everything I need to say before taking a rest for the holidays.

Content:

This week I posted some more content on my socials, mainly on the weekend. These featured a comedy sketch about the type of people you’d see at my non acting job, and a self-tape using the techniques of how to film a tape for film and tv a few weeks ago. Here are the links to them both if you want to watch them in full.

Rehearsing:

This week I’ve also been rehearsing for some new material, mainly for the open house event. As mentioned before in my acting class, I’m making a decision on Friday as to which monologue I’m going to focus on, but one thing I definitely want to keep is my comedy impressions routine. I’ve sent it to a few of my fellow acting friends and they said they liked it, and along with some feedback, it’s made me even more determined to rehearse, refine and repeat the routine. Even if I end up filming it again for my socials, getting it out is better than nothing.

Act On This:

This weeks podcast saw the casting director and director of new tv show The Hack, which were Victor Jenkins and Lewis Arnold. This was a full on session, and because of the length I had to split it into two parts. But at the same time it was full of useful information. These included how Lewis tackles a project like this, the BTS of the score and how actor Neil Meskall got involved in it all. There was also the basic ways of how to keep you on Lewis’ and Victors mind for upcoming projects, and overall it was a really fascinating talk. It’s one that was jam packed but very informative as well!

Coronation Street:

This week I watched the show from 8th and 10th October. This saw Debbie prepping for Ronnie’s birthday, and as you can imagine, she was not best thrilled when Abi turns up, but Kevin is convinced that she needs to be there for the sake of jack and Alfie. But things soon turned awkward for Carl,  having Abi on one side of the table and James on the other, using  some awkward stories to cover it up, all whilst trying to cover up his and James’ secret, Debbie losing her patience. Abi stating how staying with Kevin won’t make her happy, querying about Carl's needs as well. And whilst Toyah mentioned how her job can be tough whilst praising Michael on his work on the factory, Abi accidentally sent a text to Kevin thinking it was Carl, whilst Ed gave hints to ollie regarding go Dee Dee, all whilst and Debbie gave Kevin a wake up. Just when Carl thought he was in the clear, Kevin found the text on Alfie’s tablet, realising it’s connected with his phone, with everyone finding out and Kevin lashing out at carl. This obviously upsetted James, telling Carl how it was whilst Abi talked to Kevin about it, revealing that she’s in love with Carl. Kevin then retaliated in that Carl is a player, and Jack also disowned Abi and getting kicked out. This prompted Abi moving in with Carl, and Kevin confiding in Debbie, little knowing that Debbie knew about it. Following this, Debbie had every right to scowl at Abi, also telling her to stay away from the family. Jack also made his feelings for Abi clear to Kevin, and also told Abi herself, where she asked Kevin to keep an eye on him, revealing that she’s moving away to weather field. This then prompted Abi to ask Carl about the living situation, with Carl realising what he’s in for, maybe thinking this isn’t what he wants, all while Kevin throws her stuff out with everyone watching. And a chat with Glenda resulted in him making a move in the process, and reporting it back to Debbie. Kevin then implored Tim not to make the same mistakes with Sally like he did with her (and I’ll move onto Tim’s situation in a few moments), whilst chatting to him and Leanne. But his anger only erupted when Kevin found out that Debbie knew about the affair, disowning her as well. But that wasn’t the only drama. Asha needed a few more days in hospital, Dev smothering her was his was of secretly being angry at her, whilst Bernie used a saying that anger is fears bodyguard from a counsellor (which is a good analogy actually). Asha then confided in Bernie about pauls death and finding out about Dev being angry, and slip of the tongue caused tension between the newly weds. But Asha was quick to reassure him that it’s not his fault, with him accepting her not being a paramedic anymore to look after her mental health. Although secretly I don’t think he was convinced, as him bringing her a jigsaw puzzle for her maybe was his attempt for her to change her mind. But she made it clear that it’ll take a long time for her to recover whilst explaining the reality of of being a paramedic, and apologising to Bernie for how he was with her. After getting an update, Asha assures Dev not to go private for her, convinced that she’ll be fine by then. But after seeing spoilers, something tells me she’ll be far from fine. We also saw Theo getting ready for Noah’s funeral, with Todd revealing to Billy about a bowel cancer screening, which is the real reason why he couldn’t go with him. After the appointment, Theo spotting them together boiled his blood even more. And after George asked her out, Christina expressed her doubts on Theo once again when he and Todd join them for a meal followed by Billy joining them. This then led to Theo asking Billy what he and Todd were talking about, which got Todd annoyed and heading home. But a text on Theo’s phone will only mean trouble, especially after seeing spoilers. We also saw Trisha once again, as she came to the office, follows by Brian and Sally meeting her. Now I can understand Sally being mad at Tim, and I also got Brian surprise after finding out about the age gap which Brian, pointing out that it was illegal, whereas Tim thought nothing if it, claiming it was “different back then”. And after Trisha came to speed dhal, and after Tim chatted to Alya about law, the restaurant and Adam, he reassured Sally it was her he loves. But a text from Trisha to meet up speeded trouble once again, with Tim being annoyed at sally for grilling him again. But Brian’s meddling on Trisha caused a friction between him and Tim, with Glenda reporting it back to sally. Tim then confessed the age gap between the pair, with Sally pointing out that it’s wrong. And a comment of a picture of Trisha was one clue to try and make him see the light. Whilst that may not be enough to convince him, Tim lets Trisha down gently, for Sally's sake. I don’t know if she’ll make another appearance. But either way, it’s going to affect Tim and Sally's relationship for sure. The 13th saw Kevin getting multiple texts from Debbie, trying to talk to him. And whilst Sally minded Alfie, Kevin snapping at Abi was his way of hiding his upset. And the thing with Kevin is I get why he’s upset, but I wish he was more open about how he really feels and not hide in his man cave. As Sally could see for herself that him getting into a depressive state isn’t helping, so imploded him to make himself better for Alfie’s sake. But whilst Debbie opened up to Brian on her dementia update, Abi was frustrated as she and Carl were finding a place to live. But at least she had a successful job interview, and Carl managing to persuade Roy to help her out with regards to the living arrangements. This then left Abi questioning his full commitment of her, but he reassured her to know that he’s only thinking of her. Meanwhile following his test for bowl cancer, Todd talking about his own funeral concerned George. I wouldn’t go searching people’s emails, but if George hadn’t been encouraged by Christina following his concerns with regards to Todd, he wouldn’t have known what was going on. George supporting him whilst hearing the symptoms was what he needed, and it was great that he got the all clear. But whilst all this happened, Theo asked Billy and summer (who revealed to Billy she’d been looking at voluntary programmes), whether she was, but no word of him resulted in Theo trying to block out his jealousy with shots with Gary and new worker Pete. But the appointment really gave Todd good for thought, confiding in Billy on death, Paul, and mentioning how friendship is important to him. And I think secretly Todd knew what Theo is capable of if he found out that he was with Billy, rejecting a call from him whilst getting drunk with Billy and summer. This then got Theo suspicious again when when George and Christina mention Todd’s whereabouts, and  seeing Todd go back into Billy’s flat prompted him going into town with Pete. But there was more drama when Cassie left Tyrone on his own whilst Fiz is having the week off for Tyrone, but Tracy Tracy convincing her to have some fun was not the best idea. And when Tracy finds Cassie at Ken’s, Tyrone falling out of his chair was the last thing Fiz needed. After Cassie gave the update of his wrist, it led to an argument between Fiz and Cassie, resulting in her being kicked out. Tracy is obviously going to be annoyed with Cassie for moving in after what she previously did to Ken, but I think that this time she won’t do anything bad again, and I’m sure Ken will make it clear that it’s his house so his way goes. Sally meanwhile queried Tim about Trisha after she mentions of a spray to help Brody and Shanice, and him getting constant texts from Sally whilst he’s at work isn’t helping. And you know when there’s tension, when you can’t come to an agreement. I just opened after their anniversary their marriage isn’t on the rocks. And speaking of couples, Carla expressed her doubts with Becky whilst she goes away to Ireland for a funeral, with Lisa reassuring her nothing will happen. But Becky coming in clearly nerved Carla, but at least Roy wanted to draw a line over everything, with Carla asking him to keep an eye on Lisa and Becky just off her wellbeing.

Hollyoaks:

This week before the anniversary week, we saw the return of a few characters for Tony’s stag do, one resident out for revenge and a shock return of a deceased character. Mondays episode saw Darren on edge when Tony and Diane come round for lunch. For obvious reasons it annoyed Darren hard, and whilst his goes back to his gambling addiction, finding out that jack knew about Nancy and Tony only tipped him over the edge. And Tony meanwhile is facing the wrath of Diane after finding out about him giving Mercedes a bracelet. With her making him decide between her and Mercedes, Mercedes herself tried to regain contact with Warren, who seems to be moving on with his life with a new relationship (and if I know who I think the actor is, then I might be correct). But Mercedes isn’t the only thing on Tony’s mind, as Marie is demanding money from Tony for her to start a new life with Arlo and the baby, making it clear she will tell Diane everything if he doesn’t do as he’s told. Lastly, Clare is ruffling some feathers. First teaming up with Jez for his plan (where he claims it’s Sienna's fault for not “accepting who he is”, not hers) but also caused a rift between Tom and Peri following their steamy encounter, which made Tom decide to move back to Spain. But after opening up about being reminded of Abe, and Diane giving her words of encouragement, she was finally honest with Tom and asking for another chance. And it looks like I don’t have to wait for long. Tuesdays addition of the soap saw Darren spiralling after Jack knowing about Nancys affair. The Osborne clan are obviously not happy about it, so it’s a good job Frankie is going away to Liverpool with the rest of the young people for a much needed weekend away (which was can see in the upcoming Hollyoaks: Later). But him meeting old friend Zoe was soon interrupted by John Paul who took him to his place, knowing the damage alcohol can have. But I do wonder who Darren was calling on the phone with the threat to kill Tony? And speaking of Tony, his stag do involved old friends Carol, Finn and his brother Dom. and good old Dom for lending tony the money for Marie, mentioning how Tony has helped him in so many sticky situations. And he made it clear he doesn’t want Marie near him again. But that’s one woman down and one to go, as Diane made her feelings on Mercedes clear, which led to him missing her scan. She claims that she doesn’t like him after being questioned by Myra, but Mercedes stating how lonely she is is definitely something I can relate to. I also hope that Sienna and Cleo will be able to find out who’s in their flat after they hear an intruder, and Peri is understandably shocked when she overhears Tom telling Leela about how he doesn’t want to make things awkward if things don’t work out with Peri again. But he managed to get some good advice from Finn (who I by the looks of things is abit of a womaniser) and after Carol and fin got it on after giving Peri advice, I don’t know what Tom will say when she gets down on one knee. Finally, Wednesdays addition saw Clare cancelling her plan following the teen’s whereabouts to Liverpool. But Jeremy's alternative about how it can still go ahead gave her food for thought. Clare cancelling it again But after a chat with Dodger (who also had his own problems but I'll mention it in a moment) brought Tori into the equation, and it was then she realised that it was a bad idea. But I wonder of her locking him in a garage is the best idea? but that wasn't all, as following a call in the previous episode, it turns out to be Warren that he called, who took him to a poker game after revealing he doesn’t have the money for Warren to help him. During the game, he opened up about tony, Nancy and Mercedes, but even the money he won at the game still wasn't enough. Although Darren may have had his luck cut out, as suddenly he met James nightingale (who was supposed to be dead), who got very aggressive. Thankfully he got the money, but not after abit of blackmail when James said not to say anything. So the big question is... why did James lie about being dead? And it doesn't go unnoticed by Peri, who is also feeling down after proposing to Tom. It's a good job she got the comfort she needed from Ste (who revealed he still misses James) and Leela, reassuring her she will get her happy ending. And Cleo had to end up being peacemaker when the intruder was dodger, reminding the siblings that if they don't resolve things, Jez will win. But the conversation she and him had about their kiss only caused more tension, so surely its a matter of time until that's revealed. But all I can say is, I can't wait to watch the 30th anniversary of the tv show, and the crossover everyone has been waiting for, along with new Hollyoaks: Later. And Mercedes will do a little bit more than just support him at the wedding.

Eastenders:

This week in Walford saw one resident held hostage, one resident having a setback in his kind of work and the aftermath of Joel’s attack. Mondays episode saw the follow on from Vicki's attack. Whilst Ross said he loved Joel, this event got him facing a grilling from the residents, especially Priya. This then led him to getting questioned at the hospital, with Sharon and Zack stating how Joel is the obvious suspect after hearing in the rovers what happened. And whilst hearing from Joel that it was only a knock and that he punched a wall, Tommy also had a chat with Zoe about how something like this will haunt him for life, as she got him to make a decision and do the right thing. Despite being angry with Joel for finding out how extreme it really was, he got brainwashed by his friend into helping him. But that didn’t seem to work when Ross searched his laptop and found the video of Vicki getting beaten up, resulting in Joel’s arrest. I just hope that Joel will face the music following this, and one thing that did come out of it was Julie offering to help lily with her school work. But that’s not the only drama happening. Teddy is cautious of Harry’s whereabouts, and after being convinced that the photo George got sent wasn’t at Cardiff, a trip round to the flat had no success. And whilst Gina is annoyed Harry made a certain remark on the phone, little do they know he’s been held hostage, forced to do the call by Okie. I just hope it doesn’t go as long as Bianca's disappearance a few months ago. And that’s not all. After telling Jasmine to do her job instead of flirting with Oscar, Elaine told Johnny to be honest with Callum about how he feels, and cross that bridge with Lexi when they come to it. But understandably she didn’t take it well, and despite promising her that she’ll visit Ben in prison, Callum is about to go on a rough journey when Lexi spots them again. Tuesdays episode saw the aftermath of Joel getting arrested, and Sharon made it clear she didn’t want Joel in her house (and you know what I don’t blame her). And good on Tommy for speaking the truth, and I don’t know how big the consequences will be for him, at least telling the truth will hopefully make his punishment (should he get one) lighter. Vicki made it clear to Ross not to take Joel’s side, but him seeing Joel for what he really is breaks his heart. Meanwhile, Okie is doing some more dodgy work as keeping Harry in the flat is one way to get what he wants, despite Harry admitting the truth. Even Anna felt uneasy when Gina moved on from Harry with Okie. And whilst Elaine snapped at Teddy for her house renovations, Lexi took advantage of Johnny’s  kindness where she exposed him to his work. And cheeky jasmine is still playing hard to get with Oscar, but him helping Nigel out when the dementia kicked in seemed to have given her at least the green light to ask him out. Wednesdays episode saw Ross visit Vicki in the hospital again, telling Ross that Joel is evil. But it was the final straw for her when he revealed about the videos Joel recorded but didn’t say anything, prompting her to kick Ross out. Avani also got the shock of her life when discovering that her video of her and Joel having sex went online, and it gave Ravi a wake up call to be there for his family. Despite putting Okie in charge and letting harry go, it wasn’t the case at all. I hope poor harry will be able to do something soon. Julie was also feeling the strain of Nigel, her job and being Joel’s appropriate adult, and a comment from Nigel about lily and Charli was the final straw with things becoming too much. I’m glad that Jean was able to help her, and offering a cup of tea if she needed one. And along with jasmine testing Oscars limits, Johnny managed to get his business with Lexi sorted, and inspired by Elaine, made the decision to set up his own business. Finally, Thursdays episode saw Ross facing the consequences of Joel’s actions, and people’s reactions said it all, but Harvey was trying to be a good person after mentioning Aaron, but it doesn't seemed to have helped. And Ross’ speech on what would people do if they were in his shoes wasn’t enough, and soon he hit rock bottom. It was a good job Harvey found him just in time, and with Anthony, who queried about his well-being, helping out too, I’m glad Ian saw sense into helping Ross after going through rock bottom himself. Let’s just hope they can sort something before Vicki comes back from her holiday with Kathy and Sharon. Meanwhile, Johnny messed up his new business venture which resulted in him getting the sack, and Oscar helped Nigel in his mission to surprise Julie. It definitely paid off and he managed to get Jasmine to finally go on a date with him. But after seeing spoiler, Nigel’s dream job might be put on hold. And we got to discover abit of Okie past when he was on a date with Gina, and she was right to be suspicious of him, as Harry is still held hostage, with Okie making it clear that whilst Ravi is gone, he’s in charge and not letting harry out anytime soon. I just hope that Harry won’t put himself in too much danger, knowing that Okies fear and the use of his drugs to help blot out the pain will only cause long term damage.

I Fought The Law:

This week I watched 2 episodes of the drama based on the true story. We started with a flashback seeing Ann prepping for Julie’s wedding, whilst in the present, she’s still traumatised after finding her dead, telling the news to the family. This then prompted Ann to make a list of things for what police did wrong whilst it’s in her memory, with Charlie wondering if it’s a waste of time. The DCC’s apology wasn’t enough, and was shocked when they brought in Matthew for questioning, followed by introducing their liaison officer Mark Braithwaite. Whilst Kevin asked Matthew about the police, Matthew stated his versions of events were different to hers, which she couldn’t believe. Ann also gave a beautiful eulogy about Julie at the funeral, promising to find whoever killed her. Charlies mood was also slipping and pushing Ann away whilst seeing Mark, who earned her trust, giving her an update showing they’ve made an arrest, one of which she recognises in Lee Watson. This then led to confronting Bev whilst Sean confessed that he went to school with Matthew, who confirmed he’s bad news. Mark then gave another update to say they found DNA evidence, whilst suggesting to Ann therapy, where Ann revealed her nightmares since the incident. But Charlie rejected the therapy idea, and after getting an update, Charlie wanted some space, thinking it’ll be the only chance for them to get through it. But it certainly didn’t make Ann’s nightmare go away, as we the viewers got to see it for ourselves. After the FLO revealed that the DNA swab was a match, so far the court trial was looking good. But the defence know how to do his job, and whilst forensics revealing the possible cause of death, Ann explained her version of events of what happened. After the first day, Ann reflected on the defence and how she wood have a gun, and I don’t really blame her. But it was also great that Charlie wanted to start fresh after the trial. But once again, the defence knew how to tickle Sean’s funny bones, grilling him about his relationship with Julie, with some shocking accusations being revealed. This printer Ann and Charlie to reflect on them interfering in Julie’s personal life and asking Gary about it, where he had an honest answer. Before the knew it, Lee took to the stand, but the trial stopped when it was only just the beginning. Ann reported this back to FLO about it and also about Julie’s personal life, only to find out he knew about it. But I’m glad he reassured her that he shouldn’t been honest with her, but sometimes there are certain situations which you can’t control. Back in the courtroom, Lee was convinced he’s being framed, and mentioned about Birmingham 6 and Guildford 4, which my guess is, was a clue in the story. Following this, we saw Ann reminiscing on videos whilst Charlie stays with her, and I hope this makes him realise she needs him more than ever. But with no foreman to give the verdict, this led to getting a retrial, devastating Ann, knowing she’ll have to relive it all over again. Episode 3 aka the penultimate episode saw Ann seeing Mark after the court, revealing that he is just as shocked. But the retrial saw Lee going back, still denying everything, causing Charlie to lose his temper. And after the jury say no again, letting Lee go, Ann low as the one that lost her temper, devastating her and also confusing Charlie. And whilst he was trying to cover up his concern for ann whilst she is grieving, she revealed that her manager at her workplace requested an appointment for the psychologist, thinking she’s losing her mind. But it’s moments like this I could see that Charlie was a good husband to ann, reassuring her she isn’t. But seeing Lee on tv linking to the murder caused Ann to have hallucinations of Lee whilst tending to patient Daniel at work. This the saw ann going into a depressing funk, missing Marks calls. I get that Ann thought that giving up is what Charlie would’ve wanted, I think deep down it isn’t, but he is definitely concerned about her welfare before heading to church. Gary also told her that Lee can’t take over her life, and revealed that a girl called suzie Allen mentioned about how Lee boasted on killing Julie, and after reporting it, Mark revealed they can’t take on Lee again due to the double jeopardy law, upsetting Ann. All of this stress caused Charlie to have a heart attack, praising Ann for helping him, and telling him to ask it easy and suggesting he moved back in. I have a feeling that her promise he asked her to move on from Julie won’t be as uneasy, as she takes up line dancing in order to cope. This was only to be interrupted with Bev brining back Kev after he explored Julie’s house following asking Ann the house number Julie lives at, and whilst they politely telling him it’s wrong, they tell him his version of how she died. But it was also moments where everything got too much for Ann, waking up to nightmare and having someone in the house, only for a pigeon to come in. She then decided to go with Mark to Julie’s house to help with the nightmares after being recommended it by the therapist. Mark then praised and reassured her that she’s not crazy, recommending to contact MP Frank cook, with Ann stating on how rmJulies death is affecting her and also with anyone with her daughter. This prompted Frank on doing something about it, and the DCC apologising but adamant there’s nothing he can do, frustrating Ann further. Whilst on holiday, Ann noticed an article on another crime Lee committed and being sent to trail for, with Charlie supporting her in the process. But Lees previous convictions left Ann frustrated when he may only get 7 years, as she wanted more for justice. Mark then updated Ann about what Lee said in prison when he gets out, with a female warden getting proof in the process. This then led Ann to make an victim impact statement, knowing it’s the only option left. The retrial in April 2000 revealed he only got 6 years, and despite Charlie and Mark telling her there’s nothing to do, Ann is determined to change the law and get justice.

Waterloo Road:

This week is watched 3 episodes of the school drama set in Manchester. The main storyline saw Dwayne secretly messaging Jas, with Ashton asking him on why he’s not been around. And after finding Jas’ scarf, Dwayne was then caught by Nisha, only for Ashton to be teasing him and finding out the full story. Tonya also got suspicious whilst Dwayne begged Ashton and Ben not to tell anyone. Jas also had her suspicions whilst Nisha asked about Dwayne’s crush. And whilst Tonya asked Ashton about the situation, it all backfired when getting caught by Nisha, who got revealed for the whole school. This then prompted her in trying to get Dwayne to open up but couldn’t do so. Jas also queried Dwayne, only to reveals that he’s Martin (the person he’s been posing as online), with Jas reporting it to Nisha, telling her to look at how to approach it, even if it means getting the sack. And whilst she thought he won’t tell anyone after hearing Dwayne out, Ashton wanting to see the messages ended up in an argument, Jas facing getting the sack after trying to pin the blame on Dwayne. Tonya also tried once more to get dwayne to open up, but after mentioning about his mum with Mike and Joe not knowing, once again there was no luck, and I do wonder how he’ll handle the pressure he’s under after Jas deletes her profile. Along with this drama, Hope was excited about the environmental assembly (despite some slack from Ben), which Stella mentioned in the staff meeting. Val was quick to question her motives, revealing to Darius that she wants to forum on accreditation instead of boosting the arts like he suggested. And whilst Hope suggested to Zayne to be a polar bear and suggesting another dress rehearsal to Declan, Ben getting a text from his mum led to Stella Stella breaking the news (which there are two different stories), which led to ben being mad and Hope not performing. But a chat with Jack (who after asking about Joe and Hope and Bens mum, convinced her to do something different led to Stella and her grandkids making up, and how they need to focus on themselves. Hope then finally performed her song (where she has a great voice), prompting Stella to suggest jacks query of promoting the arts (even though it was Darius’ idea), whilst spending time with her family. Along with this, joe is rushed off his feet, with like showing concerns when it comes to family time. With Stella announcing Mitch swift to help with access needs, him  assuring joe he’ll find his way around himself didn’t get off to the best of starts, particularly with Portia. But he reiterated to Joel on what the role means after talking with her and starting fresh, with Joe realising that he was right. He also understood joes worries on sorting things out yourself, and asking for a drink gave mike the chance to spend time with Schuey. But I could be wrong, but maybe this is the start of something that’ll lead to joe portraying Mike. I don’t know but it could be… and amongst all this drama, Val reassured Noel about his exams after getting a low grade on the theory side. But he claims he can take criticism, with Val then suggesting to him a cooking apprenticeship after being honest and also finding other passions outside of music. This then led her to convincing Stella to go for the apprenticeship whilst stating that theory is not for him, with Wendy revealing the disadvantages, which included no relationship between staff and students, including Stace. This then led to a set up where Stace thought he cheated on her, only for Noel to be off the list for the apprenticeship, stating to Stace why he wanted it badly. But her plan to help Noel get the job and Stella to reconsider did the trick, on the condition that Wendy will see no more PDA from him and Stace. Episode 4 saw a careers fair taking place, but not before we saw Hope watching videos of her singing to her mum, reminiscing the past. But it was all kicking off again when she thought that Stella doesn’t believe in her whilst she told Ben to focus on the careers fair, which Hope was also keen on. So Stella asked Darius asking if the tv producer coming in can chat to Hope, as he’s leading the media side of the careers fair. Despite a tense point scoring session with Portia, and with Stella telling Hope to fight for what she wants, it looks like it’s paid off, with Nicole liking Hopes talent. But it all came down crashing with she suffered an allergic reaction (which I had to skip knowing it’s hard to watch) and sadly passed away due to the severity of it. But Darius, realising he put the wrong cake on the plate for Hope to take, snatched her phone and deleted a video of him and Nicole getting intimate (where earlier on she blackmailed him into talking to Nicole before deleting the video). Whilst it rocked the school, Nisha praised Darius whilst Stella told daughter Samantha about Hope, with Mike following suite, leading to an investigation. And whilst Wendy was getting interviewed (as she made the cakes but made it clear they were just for staff), and Mike praising Darius, whilst they both reassured each other to look after their well-being, Darius manipulated her into thinking it’s her fault. But that’s not the only drama, as with Ben and Izzy being put in the same group, Cat does have a lot to say on the subject. But he implored her to give her a chance after reminding her of girlcode. And Noel was starting his first day in his apprenticeship, reminding Stace to keep it professional for his future, with head of catering Simon putting Noel in his place. He then realised that the apprenticeship is not what he thought, which caused chaos in the kitchen and overhearing stave saying that she wants something more than to be with him. And after Hopes death, Simon reflected on how he's never had an experience like that before, with Stace also realising she wants to live her life. Noel also stated that she wants to be in the future with her, prompting Stace asking him to marry her, which he says yes to. There always drama between Agnes and Schuey, as she encouraged him to say what he’s really thinking when his dad Pete turns up, with Wendy notifying Joe and Mike, with Pete revealing it’s Portia he wants to see. Now Portia is definitely adamant she doesn’t want to see him,  with Mike getting a no contact order in place, Schuey is thinking otherwise. And whilst Val explains a surveyor, Agnes tries to cheer up Schuey, sensing his unease and Mike concerned for his welfare, with Joe reassuring him he was only trying to help. But after sharing his problems with Tyler about how family should stick together, the boys mock mike during his talk at the careers fair, with Agnes watching on, stating how it was upsetting her, telling Schuey to pick a side, stating what he said was wrong. This then led to them having a break, breaking her heart. But he’s in for more heartbreak when Mike told Joe how along with Hopes death, much strain he’s facing after today. And after Joe queried Mike on how he does it, he’s still adamant he doesn’t want Schuey, with him overhearing everything and saying he wants to move out with Pete, causing a friction between joe and Mike. Following the devastating events, episode 5 saw Ben reminiscing on Hope and picking photos for the memorial whilst stella acted like everything is normal, assuming it’s her way of coping. Jack assured Stella that the school have been thinking about him whilst the students hold a vigil, whilst Ben takes on funeral arrangements. Stella made it clear she doesn’t need a therapist, but wants to get involved in the investigation. This was a tense one for Wendy, knowing the cakes were hers, with Val telling her to be honest with them, but it’s not going to be easy with Serena-Michelle acting as head whilst also talking about the prospectus. Darius, knowing it’s his fault, queried about Stella about being on the panel after a chat with Jack, stating she should also there. During this process, everyone got interviewed, with Darius covering up his plan. During her interview, Wendy was adamant she didn’t mix up the cakes, but it made Stella lose her temper with her. This then prompted Serena-Michelle stating that the school is to blame, with Darius sneakily getting Wendy out, putting brains into her head. This then prompted wendy into signing her resignation, but Val encourages her to focus on how the cakes got to Hope, reporting it back to Darius following an incident with Dwayne (which I’ll reveal in a moment). But a slip of free tongue from Darius about Wendy’s resignation letter to Stella caused Wendy to say goodbye to Waterloo road. For now I hope. Whilst that was going on, Izzy, Tonya and mog talked about their exams whilst asking about Ben with Luca wishing them good luck (and that look he gave tells me that he light fancy one of the girls. But the question is… who?), and it was nice seeing Jack talking to Luca in BSL about his bio, showing how inclusive he is. Izzy told Tonya about Ben being absent, with her encouraging izzy to talk to him knowing  know she can help her. This then saw Izzy visiting Ben, hoping her experience will cheer him up. Something tells me that helping him with funeral planning and their own “French lesson” seemed to have helped. This then saw Ben opening up to Izzy after getting intimate, where she talked about her experience with her mum and how Donte coped, hoping that Stella may be doing the same. At the same time, Donte told Stella about his way of coping in the right way after Stella needed a moment, with him getting Stella to ask Ben to ask him if he’s really okay and moving on. And it seems to have done the trick, as Stella opened up to Ben on how she’s really feeling. And on top of that, there was also drama linking to Dwayne, as after his mother told him to keep an eye on Zayne, she sensed he was restless when he clawing it’s about his mocks. Ashton mocking Dwayne whilst he’s on his phone definitely wasn’t helping, but after a while, I think Ashton was genuinely concerned on what is going on with Dwayne. This then escalated when Dwayne was getting anxious during photos, but the final straw was him rushing out of his exam, where I think he may have had a psychotic episode, climbing through the ceiling and ending up in the staff room. But Jack was very good in his approach, calming serena-Michelle down, telling her what to do to help. At this moment, Stella used a different approach to help him, using her loss as a way of getting through. And that helped, with the doctor informing it was a mild anxiety attack. This then gave him the courage to say that the pressure of his exams and worried about stressing his mum out got too much for him, with his mum promising him to open up if he ever feels like it again. Ashton bless him regretted his actions following his experience with his mum, but Tonya reassured him that it was not his fault. But laughing zayne sending a half eaten box of chocolate from the students is one way to put a smile on everyone’s faces. This the promoter Stella to go back to work, stating how Serena-Michelle handled the situation badly. Although it resulted in an intimate moment between her and jack, which I wasn’t expecting. I just wonder how long Donte will keep it a secret for… amongst all that drama, we saw Coral coming back, talking to Nisha on the reality of having a child, with her getting on her nerves as always. Neil updated Coral on the nursery run, reassuring her of her deputy head priorities. But Coral’s biggest challenge was telling Nisha about the perspectous, but had to sort it herself, as Nisha had “personal thing” happening. But with Neil rushing off to pick up their son whilst covering a history session, everything got too much for Coral, followed by having a go at Nisha for her “personal” appointment. And I can imagine her anger when Nisha doesn’t want to be a co-deputy head anymore, but I’m glad Neil was understanding when Coral stated about not being the deputy head. Sometimes less is more when it comes to these things, and this along with Forest asking about the prospectus, was one of them.

House of Guinness:

This week I watched 3 episodes of the show created by Steven Knight. Episode 3 saw the siblings each take on their responsibilities following their fathers will. Anne suffered from hallucinations whilst on a carriage ride, with the carriage rider informing her about the tribe of the place called Clooboon and informing her of Ellen (who Edward would see in the episode). The hallucinations continued to the point where she was asking for a doctor after finding bleeding, finding out she lost a baby she knew Lehigh about. Finding out that the baby was only two months, she came to the conclusion that god wanted to punish her, with sultan (the head of Cloonboon), telling her not to talk about the famine. But in the end, she decided to tell the story of many deaths from the famine, revealing Baron Barot started the evictions and stayed for her people, pointing out on her walk and Anne wanting to help her people. Anne then summed it up in a letter to Arthur and Edward, followed by asking about his new sister in law and asking about old age pensions (which I’ll get onto in a moment. Whilst Anne was off on her travels, the mission to find Arthur a wife was on, with Lady Olivia Charlotte hedges-white being one of the first of potential wives, who I must say is a big character. Throughout their meeting, Arthur tried to make small talk on Portugal, with him mocking her activities whilst taking about their agreements whilst “functioning”, realising they’ll work out in their arraigned marriage. And whilst he got out of the bath (with me seeing things I wasn’t ready for), Arthur asked his butler for an opinion if he was in his position and despite him thinking she’s too sharp, but it still prompted arthur to make arrangements for the wedding. Whilst Edward made his managing director and the brewery known, his cousin Byron hedges asked him for a job, revealing that his mother had an affair with an fenian, and offered him a chance to expand the brewery but with the help of the fenians. And whilst that was going on, Ellen made a protest on freedom following the death of an innocent man, which resulted in her getting arrested. Ellen then met rafferty in jail, giving her a letter for tea, spinning her head filled with tales. But before that, worker Georgie got a letter from rafferty about how when he retires he’ll get a pension, which Edward came up with the idea. With more plans ahead, he so far seems a hit with everyone. Amongst the success, Edward mentioned to Arthur about Byron hedges and revealing the fenian connection, making the new symbol of Guinness (one which we all know today. This caused Arthur to lash out on his opinion, but Edward made his stance on the new Irish trademark clear. This then finished off with Edward meeting Ellen in public, showing her the Guinness minute and how they represent Ireland and linking it to her values, offering her a deal. I tell you something as well she can hold a drink, with her drinking whole thing my guess is her way of saying yes. I can definitely see a connection forming between the two based on how they look, and I can’t wait to see it throughout the series. But I wish I could say the same thing for Ben, as Christine asked him to marry her to live a happy and fulfilled life with her fathers approval. But Ben revealed that he’s going to join the army, wanting to prove his father wrong. Let’s just hope it doesn’t end badly. Episode 4 saw Arthur’s wedding taking place, whilst Anne shows a list of wives to Aunt Agnes for Edward. During the ceremony, Ben was learning how to do a introduction at a formal event, but after accepting a dance with dwarfs suitor Adelaide, she made it clear she’s not a name on the list. But whilst Christine heads home heartbroken, Ben reveals to aunt Agnes that he’s falling in love with Christine, but Agnes made it clear that he is not for her, striking a deal if he’s now to have a wife arranged by Agnes. There was also some sexual tension in the air between Rafferty and Anne after her stumble, revealing to him that she was pregnant. But lady Olivia also took a moment with Rafferty , but a slip of the tongue about the Fenians pushed his buttons, telling Ellen and Arthur to leave, but stating they have a business after they told him Edward invited them. Edward then convinced him to hear out Ellen’s help about have a free Ireland and have fenian interests. Obviously it didn’t sit well with Arthur, and Ellen revealed she wanted to be taken seriously after talking about love matches. Meanwhile in new New York, Byron hedges landed himself in danger by the Bowery boys, but was saved by fellow fenians and meeting his cousin William. And after trying the last bottle of Guinness and talking about the family, revealing Edward wanted peace with the fenians, william accepted his deal. Two months later, Anne met Edward at a law night, with the brewer getting orders in for Christmas. There was also another moment between her and rafferty when she states how his compassion makes him more dangerous, followed by updating Edward on how she can get pregnant still. Edward claims that Arthur doesn’t need him for the election, but Anne having a letter revealing Arthur’s strategy which could end in jeopardy, with Edward blaming his dead father for it. And a visit from Bonnie revealed how he’s been writing to Edward since the campaign and refusing to give him clues and revealing the rumour of how he got the votes, whilst also giving some hints on his business. This led to Edward confronting arthur, who claiming everyone does this MnD of vote, whilst also meeting lord Arthur Pelham-Clinton, son of William Gladstone, stating he’s finally happy. Back at st Anne’s, Olivia and Arthur they had no obligations on their marriage, but then questioned on who Arthur was with and the ticket comment. Hmmm… Finally, Episode 5 saw Arthur being in court for election fraud whilst the brewer gets refurbished, causing Edward his lose his temper. Arthur then sent Rafferty to give lady Olivia an update whilst they have a violin lesson (thankfully JUST a violin lesson). Whilst Anne told uncle Henry about Arthur’s impact on leaving parliament whilst being pregnant, he made it clear that he was not happy about the barrister is a Fenian. But I guess it’s the best they have to do. Following that, Arthur told Mr Potter not to keep him updated on Olivia, followed by Arthur telling Olivia herself to not have violins. Over at the factory, Edward lost his temper again and met Adelaide, stating that no reply to his letter is a response. She then gave Edward some expansion ideas amongst the brewery with Anne’s help. Whilst in New York, Byron promoted Guinness in his own way, with William introducing Byron to Eamon Dodd who gives him an offer of 15% of the business, with Edward not being happy. In retaliation, Bonnie banned Arthur from the angel ordered by Edward, where he isolated himself in the office. And whilst Anne was giving birth to her son, there was an intimate moment for both Arthur and Edward. Edward visited Ellen, asking about their feelings and about Eamon Dodd, with Ellen revealing she has a new plan after Arthur’s court case, nearly getting caught by the landlady. After Ellen convinced Edward that Byron will be killed if he doesn’t accept the deal, it led to an intimate moment between the pair after revealing their feelings for each other. And that definitely got me hot and sweaty. At the brewery, Arthur met warehouseman Patrick, reminiscing old times after revealing they had met before. And they also got intimate. Following the brothers nights of passion, the opening of the expansion saw Arthur mocking Edward, with Rafferty encouraging him to do more. And whilst Arthur made the announcement, giving credit to Edward in the process, Rafferty and Olivia were making eyes for each other clearly. There was also drama for Christine when Ben came with his new wife and being with child, breaking her heart, but Agnes stops her from committing suicide, pleading her to work with her and Anne on their projects. I can’t wait to watch the rest of the series next week to see how it all unfolds!

Personal:

Exercise:

This week along with my usual exercises, the timings on the bike included 13mins exactly on the Monday and 12mins 34secs on the Saturday. And with both of them, I’ve managed to get to 15k by the 20 minute mark as seen below, if not slightly more. So I feel my cardio as definitely improved, and fingers crossed I can keep that same energy going into next week.

Job Interview:

This week I had a job interview. Yes it’s another non acting job, but one thing I won’t have to worry about should I get it, is getting there, with it literally being a walking distance from my house. I did notice a few things that I also had to make a note of, and I knew that I had tot cross that bridge when we come to it. As I’m writing this, I haven’t heard anything back, so I’m assuming I haven’t got the job. Whilst I’m abit disappointed, I’m also glad at the same time I’m in a position where I’ve got income coming in, despite it not being in a sector I want to do long term. But as Misbah from Hollyoaks would say, it’s a means to an end.

Cooking:

This week I cooked a delicious meal in the form of ramen. This is one of my favourite meals to cook, especially now that it’s the cold period where I can want to have something warm. It was a hit with the family, and I can confidently say that other than peeling the eggs, maybe this is a meal where I don’t need my nan’s help.

Surveys:

This week I was only able to go through a small amount of surveys, one of which was denied due to the number of participants being involved. But I'll say it before, and I'll say it again, 2% is better than 0%. Sometimes it's the littlest things that are the biggest achievements, with this being one of them.

Darts:

This week I only had two practice throws of darts. But as mentioned just now, 2% of practice is better than 0%, with me focusing on getting the darts in the same grouping. I must say, I feel I did a good job of it, and as seen below, I've had some good success.

Strictly Come Dancing:

This week I finished off movie week. I loved harry and Karen’s salsa, and it was a good job that Harry’s shirt was the only thing that was off lol! But I can see why Lewis’ paso doble was the performance of the night, as it had passion, commitment and brilliant storytelling. I just hope that everyone will keep this energy going into the next show.

I also watched most of this weeks show, and wow everyone has brought their a-game. I loved Karen’s quickstep opening number, and Jimmy's couples choice left me both in tears and also wanting to party. Lewis’ foxtrot brought me vibes of Singin in the Rain, and Stefan was back with a bang for his Charleston. Vicky also brought her full on personality during her samba, and the two rumbas were memorable for different reasons. Harry’s got me feeling all kinds of things, whilst Alex’s got her the earliest 10 for a rumba in strictly history. I must say, along with George for his tango, she could be a dark horse in the competition. And after being in the dance off last week, Balvinder’s Paso Doble was her way of her stating that she belongs in the competition. And I think a little bit of Suki Panaser came out as well! Finally, Chris definitely used the lifts as his strengths, and despite La Voix getting the lowest score, her fellow celebrities made her feel loved.

Gogglebox:

This week the telly critics had more stories to tell. Alison and Helena asked George on what he wants for his birthday, which resulted in a certain type of car. And Ellie mocked Izzy on her anniversary card. Simon showed Jane his trophy in his sporting competition, and Sarah and Andre talked about Chee being away and the heating situation (which is something that me and my dad would be debating over lol!). Alfie asked Andrew in a full length mirror for his birthday, and Danielle and Daniella talked about T shirts for a date. Pete told Sophie about Eva waking him up very early in the morning, and Ellie was mortified about Nat and his appetite. There were also brilliant shows taking place this week which they had a lot to say on. “Victoria Beckham” showed a glimpse of her lift including fashion and her reason as to why she looks “miserable”, and “Antiques Roadshow” saw a coin collection worth £10-15k. “Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain” made me not want to go to a certain restaurant in Madrid after seeing a cooked testicle and a pigs head, “Police Interceptors” finding a driver after a grade one incident, with the goggleboxers praising the officer for her patience when the driver refuses to provide a breathalyser. Parking apps on “BBC News” got the goggleboxers talking, and “Blue Lights” saw an coercive incident that’s hard to watch, using a code phrase “Ask for Angela”. Finally “Strictly Come Dancing” saw Ross and his “interesting paso doble, and “Slow Horses” seeing the crew going to two rallies to catch a far right gang, with stuff not going to plan

Challenges and How I Overcame Them:

This week I did suffer from physical symptoms of stress, but I felt that was due to having so much on. So much so that I had to end up cancelling some stuff which yes may not be great for now, but I don’t want to end up with exhaustion. This includes going to a festival for my short film, but at least there’s someone to represent me project going, so it’s not like no one is going to be there. But at least Margo despite her adorable laziness as seen below, will always be there for a cuddle whenever I have another anxious spell again.

There was also a few auditions I saved but couldn’t do, realising that I wasn’t in the right age bracket. However, how I got through it by focusing on the jobs I could control working the application, and I managed to get them sorted. Finally, as mentioned before in the Acting Jobs segment, I was wary about getting the time off of my non-acting job to audition for a place that could change my acting career for the better, or even if the piece I'm wanting to perform will be audition ready knowing I haven't done performed it in public before. But to reframe it, the way I see it is if I can't do it this year, then in the spring (as they also hold spring auditions) or next year when I can, it'll be better than it was before.

What have I learnt this week? Similar to Ross Grant from Act On This saying how you need to focus on your output rather than the outcome, I need to control the controllable, especially when it comes to what to say yes to, and what to say no to.

See you soon for another blog. Until next time…

This is The Autistic Actress signing off :)
