Hello world! Welcome back to another blog. This week I watched the first live episode of the iconic talent competition, the end of the journey in South Africa where things got heated, and I finally got my new headshots and scene to send in the edit. So without further ado, here is what I got up to on the week commencing 20th April 2026:
Professional:
Headshots & Showreels:
The week I had a look at finally getting my showreel scene and headshots back from when I had them done a few weeks ago. I loved the results as they were beautiful, and I also loved my scene I did. All I need to do is get it edited together, see if it can fit in my reel, and then get it on my socials by the end of June at the latest! Here is one of my headshots below which is my personal favourite!

Job Applying:
This week I continued to apply for more jobs. I was having trouble seeing what I’d been subbed for, but my wonderful agent had sent over the roles I nudged her on. Fingers crossed the website will be fixed soon so I can have easy access to look at what I’d been subbed for.
Content Creating:
This week I managed to film some stuff for my social media. The main one being a scene used when I learnt about Stella Adler, and got some good variations of the speech. These include using her advice for actors to fill in big roles, and also make the internal monologue different to the external monologue. I plan to post it next week, but I’m glad I finally got it filmed this week!
Emailing Creatives:
This week I emailed some more creatives. I didn’t email all of them as what happened with regards to the Olivier awards felt more relevant to some casting directors. But I’m glad I did them in batches, as I know that emailing them in one go would overwhelm me abit. But I’m glad I made that start in reaching out, and my aim is to get all of them emailed by 5th May so I can enjoy watching Paddington: The Musical stress free.
Acting Class:
This week I was back at my acting gym, where we continued to look at some more script work. But not before we do a improvisation warm up. But my strongest point but I’m paying to go to classes for a reason, so sometimes I need to make a mistake to learn for the next time. We also played a game where the aim was to increase the level of intensity, which had me committed to it that’s for sure. We then moved onto some script work and got some good feedback in preparation for filming next week. I can’t wait to see how they turn out!

Act On This Podcast:
This weeks Act On This podcast was with actor Daniel Mays. In it he talked about sacrifices, getting over imposter syndrome and also opened up about how when he knew his limit following his experience in Guys & Dolls whilst filming other projects. I’ve listened to a podcast on him years ago and got valuable information, and once again he did not disappoint. Maybe it was time I needed to take some lessons from him…

Coronation Street:
This week I watched the 16th-20th of the iconic soap set in the fictional world of Weatherfield. 16th saw Todd still in hospital following his attack from Theo, with everyone else cheering him up. Sarah was reassuring Todd about Theo, with the tablet being the only evidence. Theo himself meanwhile was released on bail, and Lisa made it clear of the consequences if he sees Todd, who tries to brainwash her into seeing that Todd’s the bad guy, which I’m sure didn’t work. Everyone was then reflecting on the situation with Mary adamant that Todd is staying with them, and Maria wanting Gary to stay away from him. Sarah then gave an update Carla and Roy, who offered to walk Connie down the red rec, which was then followed by Sarah looking for evidence de to find the tablet, but interrupted by Theo, catching her and making a threat. Kit was understandably mad at Sarah for breaking in, explaining that the tablet wouldn’t make a difference and that it was set up. And after Summer had a laugh about Mary’s snack, they were quick in reassuring her that they’ll help mend his personality, with Carl revealing Theo is released on bail, still offering her the money to kill him. Gary also got an update, who told Maria he was on a job when Sarah searched the van, where Sarah herself updated George and Todd, with George understandably frustrated. Thankfully Todd was forgiving but was convinced it’s not over. Lisa herself was looking for her warrant card meanwhile, and was comforted by Carla about Theos abuse, but found Connie with Roy after wondering where she was. But little did they know that Jodie still had the card, overhearing David on the phone to Gail for her birthday. Jodie then found Olivia, and soon claimed the tablet she had was a missing one after three denied Lily one herself. With the Driscolls, Maggie was explaining to Susie a coffee morning, which clashed with Eva’s schedule, ordered by Ben to clear the schedule after Susie's plans are revealed. But just glad that Susie had fun with her friend, with Eva apologising to Maggie on Bens temper and how they took some of the blame for Megan, not realising Lisa overheard it. The copper herself was then updating everyone and ordering them to stay away from Megan. For the Webster clan, Carl visited Debbie where she asks him about Summer, berating him into money from Connie’s inheritance, and revealed who actually killed Billy. She was understandably mad at him for taking the blame, with Ryan sparking concern. And rightly so, as Ronnie was soon coming over to get an update from Ryan about what he heard so far and made his feelings about Carl clear. He was then soon coming into the Rovers and ordering him to leave Weatherfield after Debbie’s decline which he was blamed for. 17th saw Lily feeling insecure about a spot (relatable), with Jodie’s tip making it worse and giving her a tablet claiming it was from a sale, also made things worse. David and Shona were then discussing the tablet, knowing that Jodie was trying to help, explaining he doesn’t care following his trips to the hospital. Meanwhile, Todd came back to George and Mary’s house, with Mary and co feeling guilty. Todd reassuring them that they , with George changing the suspect on the business and watching tv. Soon Todd got off the phone to Eileen, with her coming is a bad idea, but George and Christina were by his side and convinced him not to go to the flat for now. But George decided to go with him, claiming that family comes first. And whilst Todd was getting the last of the few bits, the intercom rang which was a delivery man, but it got Todd suffering a panic attack, thinking it was his abusive ex. It then got the two reflecting on everything, with Todd wondering how he could love Theo. I’m just glad that Summer was supporting Todd about going away for a few days organised by Sarah, reminding him that Theo is the weak one and Mary bringing her armour (which was both caring and amusing). For the Websters, Ronnie and Ryan were concerned for Debbie after ignoring their advice to not go for a jog, with Carl wanting to apologise and claimed he was scared of Theo, also revealing Ronnie’s threat and declining it. Despite this, Ronnie was trying to convince Debbie about Carl, with her getting overwhelmed again, and Ryan being requested to keep and eye on her. Ronnie then revealed he was been kicked out after Carl's meddling, with Summer taking his offer of wanting Theo gone. At the Rovers, Lauren worked out why Kirk was having a weird dream (that was amusing), which was interrupted by Maggie giving her a hard time and Steve coming in to apologise and asking about Jim. It was then interrupted by Ben, who wants to get distracted by alcohol and darts, causing Maggie to take him to the back room. This then got persuading him to forget everything, but he was soon reminding her of the stuff that came with it, with Kirk bringing humour to the drama. 19th saw Kit coming into the Rovers to reveal that they can’t charge Megan, overheard by Will and infuriating Maggie. Will was then reporting it back to the abuser herself, and started planning for Paris, soon hiding her intentions. Eva was then asking about a barring list, which they agreed after mentioning Theo, with Maggie still furious about giving up, but more about Will moving on. Ben, bring the good father he is, was then trying to convince Will he was only looking aftering him, and was wanting to move on despite Maggie’s disapproval. And one resident was wanting other intentions than just Theo gone, as Carl was wanting Summers bank details. But she wasn’t falling for it, as she was convinced he only cared about the money, but soon it got him revealing he’s trying to push Theo’s buttons. And there was one moment where the true meaning of community was clear when everyone was making it clear of Theo's presence and Eva showing him who’s boss (hence why she asked about a barring list), but soon Carl was provoking Theo. He was one step ahead though, as he realised what was going on and made a threat. It then got Kit being roped into the situation, with Carl trying to get him on his side, which didn’t work, and soon reminded him that it was about Todd. Carl was then updating Summer about Theo, convincing her to move on knowing it won’t end well, and he was right as Carl was beaten up, but only to reveal that it was Ronnie. But if there’s anyone else who wants Theo gone, it’s of course Gary Windass, who bumped into Theo and revealed Sarah and Todd are away, soon pushing his buttons. It then got the pair arguing, caught out by Carl and explained to Gary about the plan (which obviously as explained didn’t work). But elsewhere, Carla was asking Ryan to persuade him to use the hotel as part of the wedding, but got a call about Connie coming home. The family were then gathering to say goodbye to Connie, with Lisa encouraging her to do so after seeing her upset. If then got Carla, Lisa and Betsy reflecting on Connie's departure but reminded her that Sheila (her grandmother) mentioned that they’ll be in her life, with Lisa and Betsy concerned. It was a bad timing for Jodie, coming round to find Connie gone, but Lisa suggesting about bringing Connie to the wedding. And finally 20th (directed by Mickey Jones), saw Ronnie making Debbie breakfast, only to get a call about Carl. Debbie was then grilling Ronnie about putting Carl in hospital, trying to convince her he deserves it and not apologising for it. And after Kevin brought a gift to Abi, Ronnie revealed Carl being in hospital, with Abi making him see it’s what he wanted. Debbie was then seeing her son, trying to worm his way out of it, with Debbie finally making her see that he’s the one ruining it for himself, only for Carl to offer her an ultimatum. At the Platts, David and Shona made their stance on the tablet clear, whilst Jodie was claiming she was looking for job when looking at the leaflet, with David being pleased. At the Driscolls, Ollie was updating Mel whilst he and Ben argued about Will and Megan. He boson came back from a walk, with Eva convincing him to not take it out on Ollie, which didn’t go well, so Maggie decided to get Eva to take control. Maggie was trying to get Ollie to see sense, and revealing she sent Eva to search for evidence on Megan. But soon enough, Ben caught Eva who was convinced she needed to fix it, with everything getting too much. Meanwhile, George noticed Christina on the phone, which was for an ad in the gazette to help with the business. Summer was also giving the two an update on Todd and Sarah, and was soon asking Abi about her mood, who revealed about Carl being in hospital. Her initial thought was Theo, who came into the shop and locked her in and tried to think Todd is the bad guy, taunting her about how he had killed Billy. And wedding preparations were in place, as Betsy was crying at Lisa’s vows, teasing her about the hen parties, convincing her to go to Carla’s hen, knowing it’ll be more fun. Betsy was also helping Carla with her vows, struggling to get it right. Betsy used the alcohol technique as a way to help “writers block” (and if it helps them then who am I to complain?).
Hollyoaks:
This weeks edition saw a mother and daughter at war, one resident gravitating towards an ex, and two families still at war. Mondays episode saw the teens still in hospital following the crash. Beth was understandably furious with Charlie allegedly causing the crash, and we also got to see some tension between her and Jack. I do have to feel for Frankie when Darren revealed her injury, knowing that her dance journey was delayed again. And Caleb was definitely frustrated by the situation, and Jonah trying to help didn’t make things any better. The police were then trying to find Charlie, who was before questioned by Jack. And Donny confronting him also didn’t help, not since Gemma revealed to Misbah about the weight loss jabs (but kept quiet about her actually supplying them). Elsewhere, there was still tension between Kathleen-Angel and Theresa. At first Dodger didn’t notice it, but even Ant and Ro were surprised by her behaviour towards her mother. I just hope they can work it out and then talk some sense into her. Meanwhile, Ste was going to meet the wedding celebrant himself after Rex claims he has another job in the garage. But when Ro mentioned a comment about how the garage hadn’t been open since the death of Froggy, Ste came home to find Rex in the women’s clothes again. I can understand why Rex kept it quiet after the last time Ste saw him in women’s clothes, but Rex revealed how he got into it and how it makes him feel. Ste claims to be fine with it, knowing he wants Rex to be happy, but secretly I think he’s still coming to terms with it. Tuesdays episode saw a point scoring match happen following Charlie making a statement about Jonah. Nancy reminded Beth of the damage it caused Frankie, whilst she reminded her of Caleb. And Jack trying to use her interest in Frank Sinatra didn’t help either, and soon he definitely has been thrown into chaos. Caleb was also getting questioned about the night, with him being reminded of how a split second can be fatal after he mentioned about his charger. Jonah did make it clear about Caleb not saying anything. Elsewhere, Ste was adamant about being okay with Rex’s clothing, but meeting with Sienna about wedding dresses (where it didn’t go well there) soon got him hiding the top. Ro then brought up jensons djing night, and convinced him to go public. Whilst being unsure at first, he decided to take the plunge which was a hit with the female friends. But I think Ste felt insecure about himself, and soon got into an altercation where he hit Sienna. He was then soon at the police station and was shocked when the duty solicitor was in fact James. And whilst Sienna was worried about Cleo (who claims she wanted to let loose as her first free night as a mum), Theresa was shocked when a gesture from Kathleen-Angel to look after the Maria’s was an excuse to have Ant round. And when she did come back, it looks like the family will have to step in to help her. Finally, Wednesdays episode saw Ste still in shock after James revealed to be his duty solicitor. Thankfully he managed to get off the charges, whilst he was also able to read Ste’s mind about Rex, knowing he’s not fully accepting of his identity. One person who was furious with this discovery was Leela, and she was also another person who didn’t have a problem with Rex wearing women’s clothes. Ro was also comforting Rex after he took his anger out in the garage, but things got more awkward when he tried to kiss him. It was then that Rex opened up about Fraser and what he did to Grace, and I just hope things get patched up between the two, for Rex’s sake. Even more so as Ste went behind his back with James… elsewhere, Theresa was still down following Kathleen-Angels comments, and Mercedes gave her some good advice. Ant also reminded her to hang on to her whilst she can after reminding her of Diane, and soon the pair confessed that they loved each other. Whilst Mercedes was happy about the mother and daughter making up, she was even more of a shock when Cleo blurted out about her allegedly pushing Clare, not knowing it was Sienna who made her think that. And there was still tension between the Keanes and Osbornes, as Jack trying to patch things up again. He then got asking Frankie if what she and Charlie really said was true, and sook she was off to see Caleb. It seemed like the pair were hitting it off, but talking about the accident got Frankie worried, so decided to make herself scarce.
Eastenders:
This week in Walford saw a resident finally getting support, a controversial romance happening, and a teen revealing what's really going on and why she isn't going to school.. Mondays episode saw Ravi still struggling with his mental health. So much so that an act of self harm got him going to the hospital. Little did they know that an old relative Nina was his doctor. I didn’t know if what she said to him when Priya revealed the truth was helpful or more damaging, as a comment on Ravneer (which I did read about) got him more on edge. But it didn’t help when Nugget get teased by Wills friend Jacob following his video of him having a seizure, and him turning off his location got to the point where Ravi accused harry and Kojo of taking him. With the family already on edge, it was only a matter of time before things escalate when he buys a bolt for the door. Elsewhere, Max was having success in his bet with lauren, but she had a plan up her sleeve and asked Alfie for help when he mentioned he had a contact. She then got Phil on the job, which Mark took over claiming he can do the dirty work. But it didn’t get off to the best of starts when Jimmy started crying and the car from Alfie’s contact wasn’t as good on the website. It looks like lauren has a lot of work to do if she wants to win the bet. Meanwhile, Ian moved the flashmob practice to lunchtime, with Zack not being informed due to not being in the group chat. And whilst everyone was teasing Howie of his former profession as an entertainer, the subject of Zack got Ross wondering what Ian’s problem was. Thankfully he didn’t mention Vicki, but instead Lauren, who for now let it slid. I have a feeling the day of the wedding will see the truth be revealed. After all, anything can happen in Walford. And Lexi was using the illness card to see Nigel again, where Julie updated them that the pneumonia is getting worse and that he may need a drip at the hospital. Callum then confided in Julie in Lexis well-being, convinced it’ll blow over. But a visit from Phil in the cafe got her more sad when he and Callum argued about seeing Nigel, with Julie going past the point of caring. Tuesdays episode saw Callum feeling the pressure with Lexi, who broke the deal about going to school. And a comment on him not being her dad led him to confiding in Honey and Billy about it, who then offered to come for a meal later that day, with Sam and Julie in tow. But one person who was missing was Phil, and I can only imagine Billys fear when he was tasked to ask him to come round. We also saw Ravi wanting to spend the day with the family, bolting the doors in the first place. But some humour around The Goonies soon turned sour when Priya found out about the doors, and narrowly avoided Suki (who convinced Eve that everything was fine) when she, Amy and Denzel revealed of their whereabouts. Things were about to get more tense when Nugget finds bruises on Priya's arm, and Ravi was pushed to breaking point and slipped out the truth of what really happened to Nugget when he got spiked. Elsewhere, Elaine and Ian headed to a gala, where they were advised by Linda and Bea to keep the competition on the square. Fellow attendant Betty berated Elaine, but I’m glad Ian was able to stand up for Elaine, and I do wonder if it’s the end of their feud, and instead having a more “friendlier competition”. And Lauren was on a mission to win the bet, with Mark resorting to take matters into his own hand and ring Ray, posing as Lauren’s boyfriend. And his intimidating way to get what he wants did the trick when Alfie confirmed that Ray will fix it. I just hope after showing Lauren the ropes, she won’t cheat on Peter with Mark. Mind you this is Eastenders, so I think at this point nothing will surprise if it does happen. Wednesdays episode saw Ravi recalling the night where he thought he saw Nish, when in fact it was Nugget. It got to a point where the family needed to escape, but a gentle approach to get out was stopped. Soon Priya took a different approach which may get her into a lot of trouble, but was the only way. Avani and Nugget were adamant about coming with their mum for her own safety, but Ravi seeing the sign caused more friction, along with Nugget having another seizure. And after a disagreement with Eve, Suki eventually revealed to Vinny about her concern for her family, soon finding the place trashed and not without their phones. Elsewhere, Lauren had to get Max to babysit and go to a baby event after Mark offered her to look at a car. But not before Cindy was having a go at Oscar for mistaking Jimmys nappy cream for Cindys moisturiser. But there was a spark between both Max and Cindy when they went to the baby mixer together, but a crash with Priya and her family may be set to end in disaster. Elsewhere, the Mitchell’s all gathered together to find out what’s wrong with Lexi, and Sam eventually convinced Phil to tag along, which cheered up Lexi immediately. She soon revealed the real reason why she has been skipping school, knowing that Nigel hasn’t got long left. That was understandable, and Phil made a promise to her about him being the one to tell her when Nigel passes away. And good on Sam for at least convincing Phil to take his own advice. With the return of Grant Mitchell next week, I hope it brings them together. And Ian and Elaine were still entertaining themselves and the guests at the gala event, with Elaine giving her some advice on Bea. I don’t actually know if anything will happen between the pair, but their deep chat on why Ian became a councillor and Elaine being a landlady definitely set the tone for it. But if it goes happen, I can imagine Bea won’t be happy with it… Finally, Thursdays episode followed on from the crash, where at first I thought it would give Ravi a wake up call. But the reality showed that he was still not right, and soon saw to Max and Cindy, also stuck in the car. They had a near escape when the car struck on fire, with Cindy managing to rescue Max just in time. They then shared a moment at the hospital, leading to a moment between the two. Something that will be very controversial indeed. But the main focus was Ravi, as after Nugget was checked out, a comment from him and Max got Ravi reflecting on the things that has happened since moving to the street I fed the spell of Nish and Ranveer. And a quick smash at the pharmacy came to a tense situation when he looked as though he was about to fall off the bridge deliberately, and you know it’s serious when Harry and Kojo show concern. Priyas attempts to remind him of the past and how he helped her was no good, and it looked as though it was the end, convinced that he was the problem and that killing himself would make everyone easier. But Suki eventually gave Nugget a chance to plead with him after hearing about the comment, and it definitely seemed to have done the trick. Let’s just hope now that he’s with the emergency services he can get the help he needs. But that’s wasnt the only thing happening. Bea was noticing Ian’s campaign going down, and claiming to resort to “drastic measures” to help him. And Mark and Lauren officially teamed up, but they had bigger problems when the car Priya took went missing. Lauren with the situation with Max and Jimmy, and Mark overhearing Sam about Phil’s mental wellbeing, and how he’s still ignoring Nigel. Sam was convinced that Grant wouldn’t be able to help as he hasn’t answered his calls. But after talking about the past, Mark took it upon himself to get Grant to come. Work an emotional week next week, I think I may need the tissues on stand by.
XO, Kitty:
This week I watched the rest of season 3 of the romantic comedy set in Seoul, South Korea!
Episode 6: “Wait List” took place days following Kitty’s break up with Min ho, with Lara Jean making a surprise visit and made a comment about needing a shower (which I found white entertaining). Kitty was then bringing LJ up to date with everything, thinking he should be with someone else after a comment from his father. LJ was then backing her up, changing the subject to her NYU application, with LJ wanting to show her her Seoul by meeting Jiwon for lunch. Elsewhere, Eunice was explaining to Min ho about how she really felt during the pregnancy scare, leading to a decision that got him fired from his dad, which was not ideal after calling things off with Kitty. Q also apologised to Dae following Chuseok, who asked him about what he’ll do next, with Dae talking about feelings for the first time being quite entertaining for me. But he gave some good advice and and talked about his “what if” if Kitty didn’t come to KISS, leading Q to know what to do. Gigi also encouraged Yuri to apply for the fashion contest, whilst she queries Min ho about him and Gigi, reminding him of the upset Kitty’s also feeling. During a trip in Seoul, it’s safe to say that LJ was enjoying the shopping trip, also revealing she and Peter are willing to talk and will keep her posted. Q meanwhile was seeing Marius, thanking him for the flowers and wanting to talk things through. Yuri was also struggling with her designs, with Julianna wanting to help with the drawing, and Praveena revealing Yuri’s blind date, giving the hint that maybe Julianna was jealous. At a restaurant, Kitty and LJ met Jiwon, who encourages her to show her book to her boss, complimenting Kitty on her Korean and praising Jiwon. But a comment of her being pregnant got her uncomfortable and after talking about her halmoni, they realised the test Kitty and Turi found on Chuseok was Jiwons. Meanwhile, Q and Marius went to their old spot, where Marius wanted another chance, but Q reminded him of the last time he brought them here and how he still wants Jin, knowing that they wanted different things. We also saw Gigi and Min ho going rock climbing, who heard about his dad and he vented to her about Kitty, and how he didn’t mean it. She then reminded him he doesn’t need to take orders from his dad and forge a path for himself. Back at the restaurant, Kitty was convinced she couldn’t overstep, with LJ objecting. But she eventually blurted it out, with the siblings reminding her it’s not over and soon found out Alex is the father. Jiwon eventually expressed why she kept a secret, knowing that Alex being an unplanned child might br triggering for him, but expressed her love for him. Kitty was then quick in praising Jiwon of her personality and Alex’s loyalty. Julianna then opened up about Praveena setting up Yuri, explaining how being her first love has affected her. It then led to Praveena breaking up with her due to Juliannas ongoing feelings for Yuri. I dealt felt for Dae when he found out he didn’t into university, spaeking an idea after a conversation between him and Min ho. And it was good news when Kitty and LJ seeing Alex being pleased with the baby, soon reflecting on their mum and how proud she would be and praising Kitty for moving to Seoul at a young age and how brave she is. A montage then happened of Kitty working on her essay whilst Dae and Min honwork in music, reflecting in his feelings for Kitty, Yuri going on a date with Sophie and Alex and Jiwon reflecting on their baby. After reading the essay, LJ praised her for it, with Kitty feeling uneasy at first due to Seoul and Min ho being a big part of her, secretly wanting things to work out. LJ then gave some advice about living our lived wether things work out with her and Min ho or not, and eventually it led to her sending the application. Yuri was then coming back from her date side Sophie, revealing she’s seeing her again, and she pleased with Julian as drawings. Q was then opening his heart to Jin, finally realising what he wants. But it was back to square one when a comment on Marius got him revealed why he never let anyone in, causing friction. The episode ended with LJ leaving and revealed she sent her boss the manuscript for her novel, revealing how scared she was at first but with Kitty’s inspiration, plucked up the courage to send it. And I think we all need a sibling like LJ, as she was was tearing a strip into Min ho and how Kitty helped her, reminding him of the good a person she is. The penultimate episode which was Episode 7: “Beat Dressed List” took place a week after episode 6, where Min ho still won’t talk to her, but she vowed to not let that stop living her life. But there were plenty of people in the friendship group that we’re breaking apart. Madison revealed her plans ruined her friendship with Mihee, whilst Q and Jin were still not talking to each other. It was then that Kitty tried to apologise Q. At first he was rebuffing her, but soon reflected on how he should’ve been honest, with Kitty understanding why he didn’t say anything, soon comforting her about her and Min ho, and cementing their friendship. Kitty was then quick in revealing her university application (meaning that she and Q may be in New York together), and soon made it a mission to save the friendship group. And she may have had the perfect way to do it, as Julianna was messaging Kitty to help Yuri, who has two days to get some designs together, and both of them convinced her to help with the new Yuri. Kitty had then set her mission to bring everyone back together to help Yuri, with Dae revealing the gang wanted Min ho and her to get back together, and soon revealed about his dad firing him, convincing her to reach out again which she denied. Speaking of Min ho, he was making more music with Gigi checking in on him to get rid of what his father said. It was then that Dae as asking Min ho about Kitty, and encouraged him to help with the music for the fashion show, which was secretly of a plan to get the two of them to talk. Kitty then onto her next stage of her plan, where she found out about Q’s decision to sort things out, and encouraged Kitty to sort things out. Yuri was asking about her matchmaking, wirh Dae taking notes and asking about her and Min ho, with Kitty still feeling heartbroken. Yuri was then wanting to have something original, with Kitty suggesting everyone be a runway model, reflecting on the Yuri she is now. But after Kitty was intervening again, where an incident with a costume got Yuri thinking after her scandal and Kitty’s heartbreak. Q, Jin and Marius worked out her plan after getting the clothes mixed up, where Q tried to make them see she was only trying to help, and the three finally talking things out, with Marius apologising and Q and Jin making up. We also saw Madison and Mihee making up and explaining her outrage, revealing that Madison was surprising her with a Europe trip. After Min ho gave Dae the playlist, he then proceeded with ahi’s and Yuri’s plan to get him and Kitty to talk out of care. It then led to Kitty and Min ho finally talking things out, revealing Min hos insecurities and his lack of support, whildt Kitty opened up about how she makes mistakes and her potential future with her. I don’t blame Yuri for feeling nervous, and finding out her and Dae’s plan not working didn’t help, leading to Yuri revealing her fear after her scandal. Kitty then reminded her how she turned a negative into a positive thanks to her help, with Yuri making a dress for her to wear to remind her how amazing she is, wanting her to shine. The fashion show was then taking place, with Min ho admired by Kitty, with Yuri winning the contest and everyone joining her. Following the success, Julianna and Yuri were finally talking, thanking her for her help, revealing she and Praveena broke up and revealed feelings for Yuri. Gigi was also congratulating Min ho on the track, and reminding him he believed in himself without his father’s approval, and convinced him to fix things with Kitty after reminding him how it was one mistake. After Kitty was reflecting on bringing the gang back together, Min ho’s confession got interrupted by Kitty’s NYU application being a success, with him secretly being heartbroken. The final episode which was Episode 8: “Wish List”, saw Kitty and Yuri having a body scrub whilst her dad sent her some money for her birthday, talking about their relationships and claiming she couldn’t come to her birthday despite showing her a dress that reminds her of her mum. She then got more suspicious when Dae also claimed he can’t come along with Q despite making a joke, working out it’s a surprise, soon stopping her as it’s a surprise for a reason. Madison and Mihee also revealed they weren’t coming, but soon she bumped into Min ho, who also couldn’t come due to meeting his mum and music contacts. Marius was then grilling him on his feelings, and soon revealed her university application and not wanting to ruin it. Alex furious at kitty for telling Daniel about Jiwon, thinking he was talking about university, but soon revealed the baby. Alex then expressed his fears but wanting to be there, with Daniel being proud of him and warning him not to make the same mistakes he made. Dae was then helping Eunice with her studies, but a near kiss after an invite to Kitty’s birthday party was interrupted by Min ho, who offered him a job after mentioning to her girl group friends about what he did for her. Elsewhere, Kitty, Alex and Jiwon were having their own celebrations, but they were soon short lived where Alex revealed that if it comes to it, he’ll leave KISS to focus on the baby, and Kitty recommended to speak to her Halmoni to bring her round. Q and Jin were talking about his future, but still wanting to come to Kitty’s party. Soon Jiwons grandmother Imo-halmoni heard the news, who didn’t take it well. But Kitty’s intervention (speaking in Korean beautifully), seemed to have done the trick. She also got a birthday message from LJ about the book and revealed that she and Peter are getting back together, which was brilliant, followed by Kitty and Q working out her surprised face, reflecting on her sunset list, with Q reminding her it’s her night. Everyone was soon surprising her with Min ho playing a big part in it, with Marius revealing he’s staying for the rest of the semester and everyone dancing the night away. I liked how everyone had gifts with different meaning behind it, all constructed by Min ho and Dae and Eunice finally shared a kiss in the Photo Booth. Q then revealed to Jin about working for Marius’ dad and explained, why he did it, but then revealed he wants to do it on his own. But I’m glad he was willing to give their another chance, with Yuri and Julianna talking about second chances to hopefully maybe give things another go. Min ho and Kitty also shared a moment whilst dancing, soon finding out the party was his idea and that LA trip was the truth, asking about why applying to NYU was the right path. Min ho then revealed about being a new manager but unsure to take the job, as it would mean leaving school for abit. The episode ended with Kitty reflecting on her semester, and prepared for more surprises along the way. Dae also revealed he told his dad about pursuing music, reflecting on what Min ho really wants, and Yuri giving her card to find Kitty despite not being on a subway station. This resulted in Min ho sending a song for Kitty, narrowly missing each other at first and reflecting on their relationship during that song. I can only imagine fans at this moment, as the two finally met to get back together and confess their love for each other, accepting she wants to see how things go. The lovebirds were then travelling to Portland together, and despite the curiosity of meeting her dad, it’s safe to say Min ho is in for a ride.
Sirens Kiss:
This week I watched the rest of this Korean romance thriller. Episode 9 revealed that Seol-ah killed Jun-beom in self defence, but was caught by Ju-yeong and Woo-seok arriving on the scene, stopping her from being shot, asking why happened. Seong-il was quick in reminding Woo-seok it was a murder case, with Seol-ah getting arrested. Forensics were then investigating whilst Woo-seok got checked out, and Seong-il saw the footage and reassured Ju-yeong that she went by the book, continuing to look at the investigation. After Woo-seok went back to the house, having a realisation following a flashback (where someone deliberately made the power it and followed the trail to find them but escaped), Seol-ah was then getting interviewed the officers interrogating her. Mr Kong was then asking about the event after Jun-beoms death, whilst Sook-ji and Eun-Hyuk were reflecting on why Seol-ah doesn’t Woo-seok revealed to the gang the evidence and showed the DNA test, the real Su-ho and mentioned the third party and requested to see her. Seong-il and Eun-gyeom then saw his stab wound to realise that someone else was involved in Jun-beoms death, deciding to see the chat between Woo-Seok and Seol-ah. It got him asking about who else was at the villa, but she soon decided to push him away when showing her scar, claiming the men were only with her for sympathy, with a final attempt to help her not working. This led to Ju-yeong still being convinced that Seol-ah is hiding something, whilst Woo-seok thought otherwise after showing her the wound, followed by Legal council coming in. Seol-ah’s colleagues were then talking about the situation and they upcoming auction wondering if it’s “Yun-Jis curse”. Back at the station, Seol-ah refused to sign the letter of resignation, wanting revenge. Whilst Woo-seok was waiting for the results, she decided to reveal the truth about Jun-beom, with the results of the DNA being Jun-beoms. Woo-seok then mentioned his anaphylactic shock at royal auction, prompting Seong-il to see that whoever caused it targeted him. We then saw Ju-yeong releasing her on bail, reminding her not to get Woo-seok too involved, who wanted to be in her side and asked to come back to his, but just as she pushes him away, she soon collapses, spotted by Eun-hyuk (who I’m still suspicious of). Woo-seok bless him was then taking care of her whilst she has a nightmare, soon having sometime to eat advised by him. At Midnight, Sook-Ji talked to Eun-hyuk about her whilst he got an interesting reaction about the talk of allergies, whilst Seol-ah convinced their joint offer is over, pushing him away again. She was then convinced they’re only after the man she has, leaving Woo-seok heartbroken. But he soon got distracted when he got the address of Jyun-hu, and Seol-ah came back to Royal Auction, asking about Sang-mi being with mr Song, whilst her colleagues discuss the night in question. Seol-ah was then confronting Chair Kim who convinces her she’s relieved, but a comment on her finishing get her wondering. She then revealed how she got into royal auction linking to a forgery case with the former chairman, with Sang-mi coming in and having no idea of Chair Kim’s plans, and making Seol-ah go to Busan. Seol-ah was quick in reminding sang mi about how it’s harder to keep a position, wanting her to assist her for the last time. Meanwhile, Woo-seok went to the house with his colleague to confirm Jyun-hu, which brought back a flashback of his sisters death whilst Seol-ah looked through her files. It was then that Eun-hyuk asking her about why’s a he’s leaving, staring it’s a personal reason. It led to her going to Hyun-hu’s fruit where she revealed her plan to him after following her, wanting to help but rebuffed him as she wanted him to focus on himself. Woo-seok was also reflecting and wanting to see Seol-ah, but declined in fear of rejection. Eum-gyeom was the recalling his findings and asked to do a check of the staff, which led to Eun-hye getting interviewed about the drink and saw footage of her following Jun-beom. Woo-seok was then led to Royal Vallet, finding a package followed by flashbacks of similar stuff, with Hyun-ju coming, and Seol-ah rescuing Woo-seok. Episode 10 picked up where we left off from, with Seol-ah realising Hyun-su was at the venue, coming to Woo-seok. He then revealed that Hyun-su killed his sister, with her claiming she has nothing to say but still checking in on her. A flashback of the night she died appeared, clearly still wanting vengeance, and spotting art work. We also saw Eun-hye still getting interviewed, wondering if she was the one to frame Seol-ah, but soon revealed she only followed her but still recorded the video, pleading with them she didn’t do anything. Sook-ji was also getting questioned, where a flashback revealed Yun-ji was with her and tried to scare her, but was with the other guests when she died. Whilst Chair Kim was having a meeting with Mr Kong and solicitor, Woo-seok showed his findings to his colleagues, with the Stiller painting having Seol-ah as the beneficiary. Eun-hye then revealed to Ju-yeong why she hated Seol-ah, claiming she was jealous and worried about her using him, with Eun-hyuk overhearing everything confusing Ju-yeong. He then apologised whilst he met Seol-ah about the list, checking in on his sister and Sook-ji revealed her side, thanking them and reminded them of something from their childhood. She then Ignored a call from Woo-seok, with Eun-hyuk asking if she meant what she said, and revealed she didn’t want to be alone. The police gang were then chatting about everything so far, with Ju-yeong having suspicions on Eun-hyuk. She also praised him on his images and asked about where he went after jun-beom, wanting evidence in the process. Sang mi bless her felt nervous for her first auction, with with Seol-ah teaching her and giving some tips, reflecting on her own career. She soon got a call from “Your Home” and found out about the paintings, with Ju-yeong overhearing the colleagues and seeing Woo-seok, claiming he’s there for work. He then saw her in her office, talking about the Stiller. It then resulted in Chair Kim following the pair with Seol-ah thinking she knows, when in fact it was the opposite and revealed his feelings for her. She declined him, worried he’ll get hurt but soon begged her to protect him. She then showed him the paintings, revealing that Hyun-su was chair kims henchman, working out where the real paintings were at the storage facility. Hyun-su being made aware of the two, and Chair Kim was wanting him to move her woke to the storage vault, with someone else joining them. The two then arrived only to find out the paintings were gone, but recalled seeing a truck and only having one week to find them. Eun-hyuk (the third person who joined chair Kim) secretly went into the vault whilst they talked about the pressure she faced and talked about past cases, leading to a lovely moment. Yoon-so was then teasing Woo-seok (not a good time) when they arrived at the flat, and looked at the files he found, which led to where the storage is. The plan was then being put into place, refusing the painting and revealed who really died and having a backup plan, mentioning her father. It then led to Chair Kim showing a painting by her father, throwing her off the scene. The gang was then looking at the beneficiary, still trying to work things out whilst meeting Woo-seok to recap the plan with the devices to monitor everything. Seol-ah finally got into the vault but Woo-seok lost the m signal in the process. Getting notifications from her phone, Chair kim turned around, whilst Seol-ah found the painting by her dad, bringing a flashback of when it was first made. Soon Woo-seok was coming to find her, Seol-ah struggled to get out, with Eun-Hyuk bumping into Chair Kim… The penultimate episode which was Episode 11 saw Eun-hyuk causing a distraction (or is he?) and Woo-seok coming to her just in time, narrowly missing Chair Kim, who phoned for the next step. This made Seol-ah vow to get revenge after revealing she found the painting her father made, with Woo-seok being by her side. The gang were then prepping for a arrest warrant whilst the auction takes place, with things heating up when she revealed Chair Kim’s true colours and getting arrested. Following that intense moment, Woo-seok updated her on the next step and persuaded Eum-gyeom about her fathers painting, knowing it’s all she had left of her family. But they soon found the real Stiller painting, with Woo-seok having a realisation. Hyun-su soon escaped whilst Woo-seok followed him to his place, confronting him to stop him burning the paintings. He was then stopped by the police and Seol-ah, just in time for Seong-il to come in. Filled with all of the built up emotions, he blamed himself after Hyun-su goaded him, but Seol-ah reminded him of the advice he gave her. Soon Hyun-su was getting interviewed and got grilled about everything, with Seol-ah looking after Woo-seok, revealing her feelings and why she pushed him away. Chair Kim was then getting interviewed whilst the gang saw the chat logs from her and Yun-ji as motivation, and a her goading Seong-il didn’t work. Using returning to work, Seol-ah was then getting grilled by Mr Kong about Chair Kim, standing up for herself and apologised to her colleagues who understood the situation. I also liked how Sang-mi showing kindness whilst she was dealing with calls. But it wasn’t over yet as after Ju-yeong realised both Woo-seok and Seol-ah care for each other, a comment about who would kill someone for hire got to the topic of Eun-Hyuk, wanting proof despite going against protocols. Speaking of Eun-hyuk, he was meeting Seol-ah at Midnight to talk about everything, explaining what he thinks of Woo-seok and her admitting to still feeling uneasy. Chair Kim also came m back to reveal of her health issues (hence why she got released), explaining her past and her offer to her father. But Seol-ah was standing her ground, promoting her to call her source linking to a secret, with someone coming in. Elsewhere, Woo-seok was looking at the footage whilst Seol-ah revealed she quit, with Eun-hyuk coming with her, claiming he wants to focus on his own work, only to find Chair Kim hanging her self. The gang were soon roped in to work out something is not right, and Woo-seok was trying to get hold of Seol-ah, clearly struggling but still came to her aid, explaining why it didn’t make sense and it may be linked to one person. There was also a possible clue of the hand written letters, and another clue left by Seung-Jae in the wine bottle got her emotional. Woo-seok soon found some documents that link to Yun-ji being a witness, and devised a plan despite Seol-ah’s fear of him getting hurt. It then led to Woo-seok finding the studio from Jun-beoms house, whilst Seol-at spotted something about Eun-hyuk in the bookkeeper Ledgers, ringing him to say the emergency whilst Eun-hyuk revealed himself as the real killer. The final episode which was Episode 12 saw Woo-seok getting hit with Eun-hyuk having his phone off, with flashbacks of his findings being linked to him. Woo-seok soon woke up and worked out how he knew it was him, and revealed the night YUN-ji was killed whilst calling Seol-ah from his watch phone, who heard everything, along with the death of Seung-jae which Yun-ji a witness. Eun-Hyuk then revealed about Dr Choi Young-ho and the night before Seung-Jaes death, leading to his murder by Eun-hyuk when the life insurance policy was made, which prompted Woo-seok to try and make him see how it’s impacted her life, with Seol-ah ringing Ju-yeong after finding out he’ll drown him. Eun-hyuk claimed that he was repaying his sins after being asked his intentions, with her coming in to confront him, sacrificing herself to save him. All of this resulted in Eun-hyuk getting arrested whilst Seol-ah is in surgery, which was a success much to the relief of Woo-seok. Eun-hyuk was soon getting interviewed whilst Woo-seok tends to Seol-ah, with his colleagues discussing everything after wondering why he’s taking Woo-seoks stuff. The two then discusswd Eun-hyuk, which came to the emotional decision to turn herself in, which was part of the aim to reveal why he did it, which worked as he blurted out everything and wanted Seol-ah released. This resulted in Seong-il letting the two talk after convincing him he’ll open up to then, which consisted of how he knew Paek Jun-beom was Lee Su-ho, claiming it was protection, he then revealed that Chair Kim used his name, and also admitted to kill her to protect her, with Woo-seok thinking he’s hiding something. But Eun-hyuk was refusing to talk due to not wanting to see the worst of him, with Sook-ji also being in shock with Woo-seok coming in early, admitting he misses her. The gang were then discussing chair Kim’s death and adding Hyun-su into the mix, whilst Woo-seok looks after Seol-ah, agreeing to start things over like a normal couple. Eun-hyuk was then getting taken away, with Seong-il feeling guilty about everything to his wife, and vows to catch Hyun-su. The two then went to a cemetery, with Woo-seok said a few words to his deceased sister. Eun-hye then came to seol-ah who revealed why she lied to the police and gave her an update on her brother, who wants to see Seol-ah. She then came to visiting him to reveal a past event where he got a beneficiary from and that he started the fire at her parents house. He was then recalling the moment it happened and how he became a monster the day he killed his father. He also revealed his partnership with Chair Kim and her death, with Seol-ah reminding him about making different decisions, and him admitting it was too late got her cutting ties with him completely causing him to hang himself. Some time afterwards, we went to a Children’s charity, with Woo-seok volunteering and meeting Chae-ruin fully recovered and giving an update to his colleague about her, and Seol-ah was leading the session and forming a bond with the young girl. Woo-seok was also giving tips to his colleague whilst Seong-il came in to give him Hyun-su’s verdict and apologised, which he accepted and got a call log for another case. Seol-ah was then making food, with the two finally acting like a normal couple, which included him teasing her about the food. Seol-ah then revealed about travelling to study art therapy and not accepting a gift he got her. But I thought it was so adorable in how he was happy for her, but nicely offered her the choice for him to wait for her, him visit her or going together, not wanting to pressure her and to do things her way (which was a proper green flag moment). Seol-ah then had her final day at Royal Auction, giving a new meaning to a Mermaid painting and saying goodbye to her colleagues. The episode then ended with the two starting a new life with her dads painting being recovered.
Boarders:
This week I watched the rest of the show featuring the 5 scholarships. The penultimate episode which was Episode 5 saw Omar reflecting on his attempt to show his art, with the rest of the boarders apologising and claimed they were right whilst examining the students. They soon found out about the art exhibition, and Florence finding a equipment of Omar’s, soon making up a lie which everyone believed, which only caused Yelena to want revenge. Dev and Mabel also convinced Leah to balance studies, using tarot cards to help her work her future, when really it was about Xiang and Benjamin, but made it clear she wants to focus on Felix and the presentation. The exams were then taking place with each of them struggling for different reasons. But Omar’s luck wasn’t going Down well as Jonny revealed the room they wanted was for sale, guilt tripping him about the fire which was spotted by Dev. We also got Toby getting stressed which was spotted by Leah, who opened up about his prep and assured him he’ll be fine, but got advice from Jaheim. Leah and Felix were then running the presentation, with Felix struggling, but things soon got tense again causing her stress, but Benjamin messaging her put a smile on her face. It wasn’t enough though, as Leah was trying to escape Xiang, only for them to get stuck in the cupboard. The exams then continued with Carol giving a tour to the board and getting Femi involved, only to be confronted by Cheddar about Pixie, making him a threat. Femi then met Pixie, who revealed he found out about speaking to Humphrey Robinson about the ballot, in which pixie hatched a plan of her own. After Toby posed as a plumber to get away with things, Femi and Pixie found Humphrey (who’s a sassy child) and revealed how much Cheddar paid. Dev also confronted Omar about the artwork, which led to Omar revealing the truth but not realising the impact it could have. The stress was also getting to Toby, which resulted in ringing up Steve to let him now where he stands and quits, with the teacher coming in to reveal to him of a call. But Toby trying to get his way out of it didn’t help, soon making him realise she was right and he was underprepped, but soon took his oral Japanese exam. I can only imagine the relief he had when he got given a topic he’s prepared for, so I think the job he worked at did the trick. Whilst Felix was trying to ring Leah not knowing she left her phone, Xiang and Leah finally got talking, admitting she doesn’t like being wrong and that she did like Xiang, but not romantically. I’m glad he wasn’t hurt by it, but mroe about her being honest with her, and encouraging her to make amends with Bahamian after she talked about their friction and why she liked him. But it was good news for Toby, as his teacher being proud of him, giving his mum an update whilst also getting a message from Abby, which got him abit confused. There was also abit of tendon with Femi after getting a suit from his parents, feeling the strain. Pixie then found him looking through Cheddar’s stuff, revealing he’s done with his friendship, giving her a clue about getting money from somewhere else, soon finding a secret credit card. Felix meanwhile was definitely pushed to breaking point calling Leah which was overheard by Carol, making him more stressed when Carol urged him to see how important it was. Femi was then confronting Cheddar to reveal he won’t be stepping down and revealed the credit card from his dad, putting him in his place. Pixie was definitely proud of him at that moment, and soon getting intimate, spotted by Graham (which was very funny). The hockey match was then taking place, with Abby wanting to make a truce and revealed she didn’t know anything about the exhibition, which resulted in the fight which got Omar worried. Leah and Xiang finally escaped thanks to the security guard, with Graham reminding her of where Felix is, but was not happy seeing Benjamin, with everything getting too much for her. At the match, Omar claimed he was worried about exams whilst Toby was ecstatic, adamant he’ll not break up with Abby. This then made Omar realise he needed to tell the truth, but his attempt to come clean was interrupted by an ambulance, which was Felix who overdosed on drugs. I have a feeling that the impact will not only affect Leah, but maybe carols perspective. The final episode that was Episode 6: Graduation, saw Leah coming to see Felix, convincing Carol she didn’t do anything and discussing how it happened, with Carol making her feelings on Leah clear and getting judged by the school. And as Mabel was waking up to a dream, and due was worried in finding Leah not there. We also saw Femi meeting Cheddar’s dad, who offers him a position and mentioned Pixie, who thinks they won’t work. Omar was also giving news to Dev, which didn’t help her mood, and also found out Toby knew it was him, only to be interrupted by Mabel about Leah’s disappearance. It then resulted in Toby making a plan with Omar getting roped into Stanley’s teachings whilst Toby found where Leah is going. After getting a car from Yelena to get to the station, Femi also came in to help (whilst ignoring Pixie following her dads words) and left Omar to deal with his own mess. But it was clear that the stress of Omar’s situation got him, ringing Abby to sort things out. On her way to London, Leah bumped into Benjamin, with Toby and Femi making it thinking she’s gone. Back at Carol’s house, she spotted Leah’s sweets bear Felix (which were his favourites), and wondered why Carol turned her away. It then resulted in him standing up to her about the pressure he felt and why Rupert left originally, which I think deep down gave her a wake up call. It was also clear that Femi was frustrated with Leah leaving, soon confiding in Toby about Pixie and what Cheddars dad said, not wanting to leave with nothing, with Toby giving him advice. Thankfully Leah and Benjamin were at a skate park (who claims he was only here to roller skate), whilst Omar revealed what Toby is planning to Femi. Thankfully the boys managed to find Leah, to reveal Benjamin set her up, and reminding her what happened to Felix wasn’t her fault. She then opened up about her own work ethic, with the two going on strike, but eventually came with them and Femi being in the boot (which was quite funny). And whilst Carol was setting up her letter of resignation, the Severtone school came in who were invited by Omar, who revealed the truth, and explaining the picture he wanted to show (which proved popular). Whilst delighted with the good news, about his art, he was then requested to delay the exams, with a first attempt to ask Mackers wasn’t the best start. He then for the fire alarm going off, which did the trick. It was also nice of Toby telling Leah to focus on the present and then gang have her back, whilst nearly leaving Femi in the car (which was entertaining), and Leah getting a message from Felix helped to compose herself. Soon enough, everyone celebrated the end of exams, with Abby apologising to Florence and Bea, and Florence accidentally revealing about Toby’s “proposal”. The gang were celebrating in style with Abby coming in to apologise, happy with how she went. Soon enough, Toby and Abby got talking, who made it clear about not proposing, but got her a gift for her travels, ending their relationship on a good note. Femi and Pixie also got talking, making her frustrated and confronted Cheddar and Graham about her feelings, thinking it was part of their friendship, which was all a set up to think they were broken up. The Graduation then took place, with Felix (who looked much better) and Gus in attendance. Femi them gave a heart warming speech to end their time at St Gilbert’s on a high, with even Cheddar impressed. And there was definitely love in the air, with Xiang and Yelena getting it on and Leah having some alone time with Benjamin (which Omar organised), where he revealed that the girl at the hockey pitch was his cousin, and soon their romance got them being playfully teased. It then ended with Gus visiting Carol about the scholarship programme, who revealed she’s leaving, but secretly wanted it to continue. Everyone being surprised by Jaheim being back reflecting on their time, their next steps and Gus picking them up to take them to wherever they go next. It really was the end of an era, and I hope the gang will continue to be the true authentic selves they are.
Big Night of Musicals:
This week I watched the annual event to celebrate all things musical theatre. Some of my favourite moments included Wild Things Performing Arts School collaborating with La Voix on an Annie classic, and Infant Hercules showed how the power of music can bring people, particularly men together. There was also a Disney medley that brought me to tears, and Sam Ryder did a brilliant performance in Gethsemane in preparation for his debut in Jesus Christ Superstar. A beautiful performance to celebrate the anniversary of Wicked got me in tears, and Alexandra Burke got the show ending on a high with her performance from Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical. Once again it was a really great way to celebrate all things musical theatre.

Saturday Night Live UK:
This week I watched another instalment if the entertainment show based in America, with this weeks host being Nicola Coughlan and music by Foo Fighters. The Coke Ope consisted of a “Who wants to be a millionaire” parody known as “Who Wants to Remain A Millionaire”, Nicola gave a song for “The Magic Faraway Tree. There was also a sketch where “What A Life” needed a story, and an Ad For “Big Horrid Clump” had me on edge. There was also a “QVC” parody, and the “Weekend Update” saw the Mandleson scandal, the queens birthday and Paddington, “the woman who can’t be ignored”, Greg Wallace and “Hand in Hand” with an appearance from Jimmy Fallon. There was also a plane sketch on who can land a plane led to the cast nearly breaking , sketch where there was always a late one, and ended with “45secs with Fouracres”, which was quite a catchy tune.

Personal:
Exercise:
This week was a struggle, as my body just simply wasn’t feeling it, therefore I had to skip some exercises. I did feel abit guilty, but maybe that was my body needing a rest so that I can come back stronger physically and mentally. But I did plenty of yoga, and some good timings on the exercise bike, which included getting to 10k at 13mins 37secs on Monday an 13mins 45secs on Saturday. So yes even though I had to go over my 20 minute mark to get to 15k, I’m happy to even get it done!
Cooking:
This week I made a delicious meal of fish tacos. I had to improvise a little given that I didn’t have all the ingredients, but it all turned out for the best. And with two tacos on each plate, it was a success with the family.
Knife Angel Statue:
This week I managed to get a glimpse of the Knife Angel statue in my hometown. I was so drawn to it for many reasons, and I loved the message it’s spreading linking to how it was all made of knives. I know there’s more knife crime out there, and more work needs to be done. But it’s moments like this where it’s a start to raising awareness to prevent it happening again. I just look forward to continue admiring it!

Surveys:
This week I managed to only just get in tej days worth of surveys. I’m glad I got my favourite hobby done, as I was slightly worried about keeping up to date due to being busy. But the important part was, I got it done and that was an achievement for me.
Darts:
This week I managed to get two practices in. These included finishing on double 2 after 1 bust score and 15 missed match darts, and double 8 after 1 bust score and two missed match darts. I won’t lie, I was losing my patience during the first game, so I was relieved when I managed to finish. It just shows that by keeping going, I got there in the end, with some brilliant scores as seen below.
Premier League of Darts:
This week the tournament went to Liverpool. Let’s just say that it wasn’t the night for Stephen Bunting, but there were some big games. I thought Josh Rock had it be match, but Michael Van Gerwan just got in there. And Luke Littler's match against Johnny Clayton’s was a close call. But ultimately Littler took the night home, and he’s slowly creeping up the leaderboard.
I’m A Celebrity South Africa:
This week I watched the rest of the show where famous celebrities come back for round 2 in South Africa, and let’s just say drama happened from afar. David was still goading Adam linking to his illness from the previous episode, and Jimmys distraction didn’t help, upsetting him further. But it all changed when everyone was complimenting on Harry’s physique, and Ashley was the first to save someone due to her immunity. It eventually got to the point where David was the next to leave, and Gemma came with him, but secretly I think she was ready to go home. Harry Redknapp was also telling more stories of his management days, followed by everyone pulling a prank on him, which was a success. He also talked about his taxi job before going to America after he finished playing football, followed by Mo Farah talking about the lesson he learned from his first race in 2008. It was also fascinating how Scarlet told the story of how she had to ring the police from the press, with one of the police officers now being her fiancée and father to her baby. It was also a time of reflection when everyone woke up to the sound of the baboons whilst Harry talked about Sandra after realising how long they have left in the savannah. But soon everyone was in tears that Bev had to home due to health problems, with everyone praising her for representing older women. Once everyone calmed down, Ashley talked about how she met Johnny Depp and made a funny comment, followed by talking about star signs with Sinitta bringing it up. Scarlett also came to the realisation that going in the savannah was the first time she’s away from her son, followed by everyone reflecting on the camp mates whilst Adam thought of dinner being like at home, reflecting on phone calls back in Australia. It couldn’t have come at a perfect ringing as the phone rang moments after, revealing to be voicemails from their loved ones and a message from Sinitta with her song. Scarlett was also talking about how she got to where she is today, and I could definitely relate to her when lads talking about football, something which unless you are a footballer, I would be in her shoes. The trails everyone faced as well were also tough. “Snakes and ladders” saw Scarlett and Ashley taking it on, with Ashley feeling vulnerable but was still did it, gaining 8 stars and facing their fears and winning a fillet. “Rancid Run” saw challenges happening in pairs, but all turned sour when Adam and Jimmy got into a argument (which was only the beginning of an eventful final week). It was then that everyone decided to save Adam, with Scarlett laughing about the situation with him, with all of them having dinner. The challenge “Keys to Success” determined who will go home with Mo getting the fastest time, and Ashley having the slowest time therefore led the camp. “Dragged Through Hell” saw Sinitta struggling and called out the words “I’m A Celebrity”, and Scarlett, Adam, Mo, Harry and Craig got through to the cyclone. But before that, the final 5 taking on a challenge to catch eggs for their breakfast, with Craig revealing his background in cricket. South African Cyclone came with different animals for each of them, and a final trail “Keep Your Eye On The Ball” saw Scarlett just missing out. The Live Final was an “interesting” one to say the least. Each of the finalists took on different trials, with Mo taking part in viper Pit, Harry taking on “Heads Up”, Craig in “Face In Your Fears”, and Adam in “Swallow The Odds”. All 3 of them did well, and were reflecting on the final dinner where’s they were surprised by it. Let’s just say as well that all hell broke loose when it came to Jimmy and David when Jimmy explained why he said “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here”, but I liked how Gemma was there for Adam. I also hope during this Adam will find the positive after he won the show, but I definitely think what Jimmy and David said didn’t help. But I’m so glad And and Dec stood their ground, as they weren’t aggressive but also made it clear to stop talking for Adam’s sake.
Britain’s Got Talent:
This week watched the first live show of the iconic talent competition. I’ll be honest, I had to skip some bits, not because it was bad, but because of what the judges said and I don’t think for me it’ll feel abit cringy to hear criticisms live. But my standouts included Fraser (and even if the audience were expecting something at the end, his mysterious personality and storytelling got me hooked), Nancy, Anastaiia and Salsa and Matty J. In the end it was Matty (who got Amanda’s live show golden buzzer), and Anastasiia and Salsa who made it through to the final. I had two people who I thought would get in, so I’m glad I got one of them right.

Gogglebox:
This week I watched another instalment of the show where I watch people watching TV. But they had plenty to gossip about. Ellie and Izzi talked about their mum and holiday, whilst Sophie reported back to Pete about her time at the darts in Rotterdam. Sue was gossiping to Steve about the man in the wine shop, Jenny and Lee were talking about possibly getting a wig for her. Jane was telling Simon a story of her friend having FOMO, and Cheé revealed to Andre and Sarah she had a good time having a solo trip to the cinema. Finally, Ellie told Izzi about her and Nats holiday and meeting a couple, and Amira and Amani were working out who’s the best singer (which was quite entertaining). They also had more of their thoughts from the latest shows on the box set. “University Challenge” saw the grand final of the series with Madgwick taking the lead, and “Emmerdale” saw Mack and Charity Dingle stuck in the middle of the road, with her going into labour and getting stuck in the lift. “Masterchef” saw Maria not being able to cook her chicken and and Luca having a more liquid mash, and “Your Song” saw Findlay having only his second public performance, dedicating it to his parents who died of cancer, leaving the Goggleboxers (and very nearly me) in tears. “The Assembly” witnessed Aitch get grilled about money and his sister, and the BBC News talking about Kier Starmer & Lord Mandleson. Finally, “Made In Chelsea” saw drama with Beks and Freddie, and “I’m A Celebrity South Africa” seeing the co confrontation between Adam and Jimmy, with the Goggleboxers siding with Adam (and you know what I don’t blame them).

Challenges I Faced & How I Overcame Them:
This weeks challenges included having some discomfort in my wisdom area. Thankfully it was manageable, but if after a certain point it’s still happening, I may look into getting it taken out. But in the meantime, painkillers to help control it will be the best thing. I’ve also made the decision to step down from a performance due to reasons beyond my control. I know it’s not the best scenario, but I didn’t want to do something knowing I wouldn’t give 100% along with the situation that was beyond my control. The final thing that happened was that I damaged my iPad. It was accidentally, and my own fault for not getting a case and screen protector sooner. But thankfully it was still working, so my plan for next week is to get to the local phone shop, and see if they can repair it. And also get myself a screen protector and case.
What have I learnt this week? Don't drop my tablet. Especially now, so I need to get protection for it ASAP.
See you soon for another blog. Until next time…
