Weekly Highlights: Seasonal Filming, Adapting To A Self-Tape & Rehearsing On Home Turf!
Hello world! Welcome back to another blog, and my first weekly highlights since the summer. This blog will saw me filming my seasonal sketches, having to adapt to filming an iconic Victoria Wood sketch, and continuing to rehearse for a reading of a play based in my hometown. so without brother ado, here is what I got up to during the week commencing 21st September 2026:
Professional:
Content Filming:
This week I filmed some content for my upcoming Halloween sketch! I’ve managed to get the main bits filmed and have one more piece left to do, but at the moment I’ve got the first two episodes done so then after the rehearsed reading I can edit the next ones. But I’m happy with what I’ve done, and I can’t wait for you to see Luna Moonshine in a different light!

Job Applying:
This week I continued some job applying. I guess what was most frustrating was that there were some jobs I wanted to apply for but I knew they would clash with the rehearsed reading, but I guess it shows that people really weren't joking when they say that by saying yes to something, I'm saying no to something else. But who knows? Maybe one day this opportunity will lead onto bigger things...
Self-Tape:
After not going to my acting class, I decided to film the scene I was going to do as a self tape. This was a perfect example of how if you’d want it you’d find a way, and if you don’t you’ll find an excuse. I’m glad that my scene partner was able to help and a Victoria Wood fan herself, and after a few takes in both my northern and normal accent, I’ve got a good range of versions to do. I can’t wait for you all to see which one I pick!

41 Rehearsals:
This weeks rehearsal saw us go through more of the play and adding extra blocks for it. I feel like we’re nearly there, and we got the complicated bits out of the way, so the rest of it should be plain sailing. I also got some good compliments on my performance, and I can’t wait to develop it for the next rehearsal!

Act On This Podcast:
After starting abit of it last week, this week I finished the quarterly Act On This Table Talk. I definitely took on board a lot of stuff from it, and the one thing I’m definitely taking is putting 1 hour into my acting career every day will help me get one step ahead. This was especially helpful as after a health scare earlier that week (which I’ll mention in “Challenges I Faced & How I Overcame Them”), it’ll definitely help me find balance. So overall a brilliant session with a key lesson to take away!

TV Shows:
For this section of the blog, I’m doing just my favourite bits instead of reflecting on full episodes (as I know after re-looking at my previous Weekly Highlights, it does make it drag on). For the soap Operas, Coronation Street saw Ross’ true nature, Summers date with newcomer Marco, Lucy’s behaviour continuing, and Kit went onto revealing his cancer to everyone. I also liked how we get to see Debbie's dementia from her POV, as seeing Toyah as a different person is something that's both educational and heartbreaking, but it didn't help when Eva got injured. For Hollyoaks, Dodger and Cleo’s affair took things up a noche, only for Theresa revealing an upsetting secret of her own. There was also a break in on the love boat and a stalker who definitely made Leah uncomfortable. And for Eastenders, Priya left the street, Ash returned to the square, Darnell eventually said yes to helping Denise encouraged by his daughter Grace (who definitely had as wise beyond her years), and the Mauren affair officially commenced. I’ve also watched The Rapture, where Gabs and Rafiq planned to get Bethany out to reveal the truth, with it potentially getting ruined up, and Prisoner, where Amber and Tibor eventually reunited with Olly and Mia, only for Olly to make a big error. I also watched two more episodes of the brilliant Trigger Point, and I can see why my hairdresser said that that it’s the best series so far, as there’s literally surprises in every direction!
Saturday Night Live UK:
This week I watched episode 3 of the iconic sketch show, with content creator Amelia Dimoldenberg hosting and music from Rachel Chinouriri. I'll be honest, this one felt like it was dragging. Don't get me wrong, there was some brilliant stuff but it felt abit slow. But what really saved it were the Weekend Update (where let's just say I can see why it's rated for 15+), Al Nash being Harry Kane & a parody of The One Show. I was also gutted how it'll be 2 weeks until the next one, but with me having alot on next week, you could say it's not a bad thing.

Personal:
Exercise:
This week I had a wobble when it came to my exercise after a health scare (which I’ll explain more in “Challenges I Faced & How I Overcame Them”), but I didn’t use it as an excuse to not move my body. I still had 2 sessions at the gym as seen below, and instead of going on the bike I went for some brisk walking. I know calorie wise I won’t burn it all off, but with regards to moving it’s an achievement for me.

Haircut:
In the middle of the week I had a relaxing haircut by my dad’s friends wife who’s a hairdresser. I’m glad I got it done now after the week I had, as it definitely put my mind at rest and helped me relaxed. Not only was it a self care that was needed, but we also managed to have a catch up on life and everything else in between.
Dinner:
For dinner this week I made some fish tacos. Whilst it made the room smell abit, I liked this recipe for lots of reasons, one of them being when done, they were delicious! I didn’t use the regular sauce like last time, but that was okay, as for me it meant less spice to contend with, but the tartar sauce was a delectable substitute.
Surveys:
This week I did more surveys to help with my self care routine and continue this fun hobby. For the first time in ages I’m officially up to date with them, but now is a waiting game on if I have more to come. So I’ll let you know in the next Weekly Highlights if there are more to come.
Darts:
My darts practice was abit off shall I say. I gave up on the first practice because of my health, but by the end of the week it took some grafting, but I managed to finish a game which I was very pleased about. The important part is though I carried on and gave 100% into what I had at the time, which was the main thing.
Strictly Come Dancing:
This week I watched the first live show of the iconic dance show. I must say, the line up was definitely strong this year, and whilst some people had a few errors, for the first time I can honestly say everyone has brought their a-game, and anyone could be the first one out in week 2. There was also a few surprises with regards to who I think will be good and not so good, but I can’t wait to see what they bring to movie week (which all the celebrities will be able to do).

Gogglebox:
This week I watched more of the show where people were watching some of the most talked about moments on TV. From a new presenter n “The Great British Bake Off”, to “Temptation Island” seeing a woman who didn’t take long to splash the cash, it was a brilliant episode. I can’t wait for next week when they react to more stuff!

Challenges I Faces & How I Overcame Them:
Let’s just say this week was a wobbly one to say the least, and it all started with palpitations I was getting. Feeling like it was similar to my SVT I had back in 2015, it did frighten me. But thankfully it calmed down, and whilst I’m not a doctor, taking on a lot of stuff certainly didn’t help. At the time of posting this I made a telephone appointment with my local doctors to put my mind at rest, so I’ll be keeping you all up to date with what they say (and also so that I don’t continue going on doctor google). I also did go to my acting class, partly because of my palpitations and the exhaustion it had, partly because of train delays and also because of a cold everyone seemed to be getting. Although secretly I was glad I didn’t go to class as whilst I was initially gutted, I think going would probably made it worse. I was also on my time of the month (ladies you know what I’m talking about), so you could say I had a triple threat, but not in a good way :(. But with the rehearsed reading coming up in a couple of weeks at the time of posting this, resting was my main priority. So having that time whilst focusing on it was crucial to me. That and also my dog Margo as seen below being my absolute rock throughout all of it.

What have I learnt this week? Try not to think about what can happen and focus on the next step, which was take by Dr Gaddas on Coronation Street. And that is something which I'm going to take on board when it comes to my health.
See you soon for another blog. Until next time…
