The ABBA Musical Coming To Nottingham, The Tournament That Starts And Ends On A Double & The Final Countdown!
Hello world! Welcome back to another blog, and my first weekly highlights since the summer. This blog will saw me watching the show I've heard about before in Nottingham, watching the only darts tournament that starts and ends on a double, and the final full week of rehearsals for the rehearsed reading. So without brother ado, here is what I got up to during the week commencing 28th September 2026.
Professional:
Job Applying:
This week I continued to apply for more jobs on Spotlight, Mandy and through other organisations. I also looked at times for the rehearsal timings for a performance I’m doing in January. I had to be really brutal at some of them, knowing I’ll have other commitments in January which will take up alot of time. To also avoid overwhelm, I’ve also delegated some jobs with pre screens to apply for after the rehearsed reading. I feel that this is the best approach for me, knowing that like in the words of Act On This founder Ross Grant, I can focus on one thing well, and also reduce my risks of another health scare (where I think the stress certain didn’t help).
Self Tape Posting:
This week I posted two pieces of content. The first one was a self tape version of a sketch by the late Victoria Wood (as I was unable to do so in my acting class due to a train cancellation and a cold). The second tape is the first of 5 episodes of “Spooky Saturday” where my alter ego for Halloween Luna Moonshine decided to make her own work. Click the links below to

41 Rehearsals:
This week was the final full week of rehearsals for the rehearsed reading. With one more day for a full run next week, let’s just say that it definitely took a toll on me as you can see in the last image of this section of the blog. But I’m proud of how far we’ve come since we first started nearly a month ago, and I can’t wait to see everyone like what we have worked really hard on!
Act On This Podcast:
This week I listened to a podcast with casting director Kate Rhodes James. Considering it was 10 years since the last podcast she was on (which I caught up on when first joining them), it was great to see her and her casting process now. This was a session worth listening to, and I definitely took some notes of what to work on as an actor.

TV Shows:
There was more drama going on the tv, both the serial dramas and high end tv shows. Coronation Street saw Carl getting accused of pushing Eve (but soon realised his forgiveness is important after the symptoms of Debbie’s dementia kicked in), with her discovering that Sam is the culprit, whilst he went onto revealing his crypto currency. Betsy was adjusting to work in prep for her fashion course interview, but deciding it’s not the right time for her (which is fair enough and I’m glad Lisa supported her decision), and Jodie was continuing her manipulation, but had to get Doug out of the way. Elsewhere, Christina was wanting answers to get closer to Lucy, but I do understand why Sally thought it wasn’t the best idea. Hollyoaks saw Abigail using her tactics into dangerously getting closer to Dee Dee, and Warren and Gemma were also getting closer, whilst she got a threat from Lucas about Ste. James was getting more clues to find Ste, and Ant and Kathleen-Angel’s relationship was on the rocks. Finally, Eastenders saw Denise getting bad news with regards to her donor and after she suffered a health scare, Amy was soon getting closer to creepy Craig after some friction in her family. The Panaser clan were still getting tense, but Suki realising how much Ash has grown since her departure, Nicolas' financial problems exposed hints of Ned’s past and a link with her dad. I also watched the last episode of The Rapture, where it was not what I was expecting but I wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing, and also Prisoner, where it was definitely explosive until the very end. I also watched the final two episodes of Trigger Point, where I was horrified by the fate of yet another character in the show, and an explosive final episode gave Lana a decision that in the long run would make her happy. I’ll let anyone reading this watch the shows yourselves to avoid any spoilers, but they were definitely shows worth watching.
Mamma Mia:
This week I went to watch Mamma Mia In Nottingham with my nan. I know I saw it a few years ago, but I made a promise to myself I would see at least one more musical before the year ends, and this was a perfect timing. I’m glad I saw this one, as who doesn’t love abit of ABBA! Keep an eye out on my thoughts of this version of the show, but if anyone reading this is a fan of ABBA, do check it out, both from the touring cast (where it’ll be on tour until 30th January 2027 before it goes international) and in London!

Personal:
Exercise:
This week I had to dial back once again on the exercise after my health scare as mentioned in last week's Weekly Highlights. So I went to the gym twice and got on the bike for the first time in a while. Whilst I didn’t get to 15k in 20 minutes, as seen below I did myself proud of what I’ve done in 20 minutes. And of course I had to include some yoga in it.
Surveys:
This week I continued to do some more surveys. After being up to date with them for the first time in a while, I’m glad that the websites I signed up to had more for me to do. Whilst I wasn’t up to date with all of them I got them done very quickly, so at least that was something to be proud about!
Darts:
This week was surprisingly better than last week. This week consisted of me finishing on tops with no bust scored and no missed match darts, but landed on double 2 after 3 bust scores and 10 missed match darts. But for that second game in particular, I felt a lot better scoring wise, as I managed to get in some big scores quickly. I think now what I need to do is find balance in starting well and finishing well. But as seen below, I’m product of myself for that practice.
World Grand Prix of Darts:
This week I watched the only tournament where players start on a double and ended on a double. Knowing I had a busy week this week, tuning into my favourite sport was a perfect form of self-care for me. With Luke Littler knocked out for the first time in ages in the first round, there were some players who I had hope would take the title, and I was sad when my favourtie didn't make it. Equally, I knew that Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price were in the final for a reason, and I was very pleased that Luke won after an amazing comeback from what looked like a loosing streak. A full circle moment after he won this as his first major three years ago, but I'm glad Gerwyn showed god sportsmanship. A brilliant tournament to watch this week, and I'm looking forward to The Grand Slam in November.
Strictly Come Dancing:
This week was movie week, and I’m glad it was a week earlier, so then ALL of the couples will be able to take part in it before the first elimination takes place. From an American Smooth from The Greatest Showman, to a Waltz in The Godfather, it was definitely one to remember. I was quite surprised by the contestant who was voted off, but it goes to show that this year, it’s a strong line up. So maybe this was a series where it could be anyone’s game. I’m just looking forward to next week!

Gogglebox:
This week I watched another episode of the show where people were watching the biggest moments on the boxset. From Strictly Come Dancing to The Celebrity Traitors (which prepped me well for when I watch it properly next week), there was a lot to watch. They also watched stuff from Antiques Roadshow to the biggest headlines on BBC News, which also got me hooked. It’s always a pleasure to watch this favourite show of mine, as knowing I have a busy week next week, this was what the doctor ordered!

Challenges I Faces & How I Overcame Them:
One of the main challenges this week was not going to acting class due to prioritising 41 rehearsals. I could’ve done, but after my health scare and after advice from Ross Grant on Act On This to focus on one thing and one thing well, I knew that it was the main priority. But I know my teacher would understand, and I have my ideas ready to go to rehearse in class. I also didn’t cook this week due to going to the theatre, so I was able to develop my cooking skills. But I think it did me good in the long run to have a rest, and knowing I have a busy week next week, I think I may go back to basics when it comes to cooking like making a stir fry. It’s also so that I don’t feel guilty when I have my pre-show takeaways, providing I’m eating well for most of that week. I think the two final challenges this week was linked to the 41 rehearsals. The first one being how I had a terrible nights sleep before one of them, but I managed to persevere and get through it. The second challenge was more of a thought on what the suggestion from the doctor would be after my health scare, and if it would clash with the reading. But it’s moments like this where there’s no point worrying about it until it happens, and whilst they may do something which may take abit of waiting time (which is fine by me) I just need to trust myself that it’ll all be okay. And also not go on Dr Google.
What have I learnt this week? Pushing through and it’ll be worth it. And I learnt that the hard way at the end of this week.
See you soon for another blog. Until next time…
